Do you think X Factor contract be renewed after next year?

Do you think X Factor contract be renewed after next year?
I think I remember that Simon had signed a contract until 2013 so he has one series left.
Do you think he'll be renewing it?
Itv might not want to get rid of it as it takes up a good amount of the autumn/winter schedule.

Or Simon will come up with a new idea for a singing show?
He has created so many shows why doesn't he try something different or bring it back to basics without the live audiences auditions.

It's still ITV's highest rated show. I can see it going the American Next Top Model way: X-Factor Superstar, X-Factor With Guest Judges, X-Factor Britain: The American Invasion, etc.

I really hope so. I remember back in 2010 when both XF and BGT got a three year contract extension I was really happy, and thought how long away it seemed, how time flies!

Would love another three year deal but let's be honest it's not looking likely.

I'm not convinced that going back is always the answer. But I do agree that Syco creating a new talent show could work better. It doesn't have to be wildly different, just look at Idol, X Factor and The Voice!

Ideally they'd do it next year but they'd need to get an agreement with ITV on that. The way things are going I suspect that a new brand with Cowell on screen and at the helm would rate higher than X Factor without major surgery.

Well if it improves then yes.
If it doesn't, then no!

But they are so far up their own backsides that they seriously don't think that there is anything wrong with it.
I mean people who just can't sing (yes I do know what I'm talking about) and they sit there saying that they are world class.

All it is now (if it was ever anything else) is to find a silly little pop act to sell songs to young people without a clue.

They call it the X Factor and say it's to find someone with that special something and then judge and send people through because they will sell more records. So they don't even pretend any more.

Not a chance in hell.

ITV should come up with a new idea for a replacement show.

And why should Simon Cowell devise it?? He doesnt own ITV!

It will depend on how well series 10 does (feels weird saying series 10, scary). If the ratings are consistent with this series they might renew it for another year until they have something to replace it with.

Simon won't want to let go of his baby too easily. It's basically what his entire career and record label is based off, without X Factor he'd have no place to start with his acts.

Course it will its still pulling in the viewers, its still pulling in cash from voters, the adverts will be higher priced as its prime time and they have the benefit of product placement, its all about the money

I think without Simon Cowell on the judging panel the show is basically dead in the water. I hope that for the 10th season they revert to the old judging panel from the first few seasons of Sharon, Louis and Simon. And maybe Cheryl Cole or someone to mentor the other group.

But in its current form I highly doubt it will get renewed.

It will be but at a much lower cost to reflect the poor ratings

You cant justify charging the same price when your ratings have dipped so these sub standard series will cost simon money

Rumour is that next year will be the last season of Downton Abbey - which with X factor guarantees massive Sunday night ratings for September and October (followed by Im a Celeb).

So maybe if Downton goes - so may X factor. But its tough to find another easy way to fill 3 hours of telly per week plus ITV2 shows for 4 months!

I think they should stop the show while it's still popular. Otherwise will be like flogging a dead horse.

Of course it will be back!! people thinking Chris winning will kill the show are totally deluded.

What a protest vote for Chris is likely to acheive is a vote change. So maybe X Factor will do away with deadlock and have a head judge making the final decision on who goes each week. You can be rest assured that if Chris wins they will make sure something like that NEVER happens again.

It's not even as though a fifth judge would change the fact that Chris is still there - how can you get rid of him if he's never been in the bottom two?!

Rylan was diluting the vote. So he was taking votes away from other, more serious acts, Rylan has acted as a safety blanket for Chris. If Rylan had left in week one/two then Chris would not have lasted this long. Now Rylan is gone Chris is wide open.

I am willing to bet Chris is in the bottom two next week. All depends if the sing off is still in place or not. If they want rid they will make sure it is. Also if X Factor really do want Chris out then expect a massive tell all story later this week from either a contestant on the show or staff from it about how dfficult Chris has been.

It's been horribe this year, Acts that should have been in 'Britains got talent' because they were 'entertainers' rather than singers going further than they should, for instance. You have to blame the judges for this. I predict that nobody left in the contest will do well. I've been wrong before though.

i assume thats what the protest votes are being used for, not to "kill off the show"

I think Simon will return next year not sure how he'd do both the american as he's already planning a next series there whether or not he will be involved.
Maybe he'll come back for one more series to fix it and go back to America after he's sorted it out. Maybe if they brought back some of the older themes the themes .
I do want it to stay even though this isn't the best series there's always a year thats not the best.
