People were groaning on the 'Live show' thread when Pink was announced for next week, but if she did something like she did at the AMA's it could be cool

She performed Try on Australian X Factor results show a few weeks back and just stood there in front of the mic stand.

Again... why would anyone moan about Pink? The girl has a strong voice and has a bit of 'go' about her.

I doubt it. She'll probably just do a 'normal' performance. She's awesome, I don't know why anyone would moan about her either!

I love Pink and think she has a great 'live' voice.

That performance on the AMA show however was NOT live. There's no possible way that a human can be thrown about like that and control their voice like that.

I would hazard a guess that she's pre-recorded the AMA show vocals to reflect the energetic performance and then lip-synched.

Pink and Kelly Clarkson are probably the only two American female singers I can stand. Singers are either half naked or having water poured over them to hide the fact their songs are crap.

There is nothing wrong with standing in front of a mic stand and singing a song. Isn't what what singing is supposed to me after all?

I don't like Pink. There, I said it.

Very boring and predictable artist with nothing particulary unique about her.

She sang live over a backing track. There are points during it that you can clearly hear she's live and hear that she's out of breathe.

Forget Katie Perry, Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna etc. I think P!nk is one of the greatest (not only female) artists of our generation. That AMA performance was breathtaking.

Yet you like the Saturdays. Therefore your opinion is invalid.

Same here, she's not really my type of music. But that performance was great!

She did not pre-record the vocals, you can clearly hear her singing live. Another poster said she sang over a backing track but I'm not convinced she did. She had backing singers doing the chorus though. LOVE Pink and can't wait to see her perform next week. She always delivers

Oh, and there's no possible way a human can be thrown around like that and still control their voice? People in stage shows perform like that every night.

Pink was out before then, she was part of the Britney/Christina/Justin era but for some reason she seems to get overlooked compared to her peers even though she is still the one releasing great music and has gotten arguably better through her career whereas IMO those first two examples have gotten worse and the third example hasn't released anything for a long time (to my knowledge?)

Nonsense. Simply not possible.

As before... she will have pre-recorded the song with various small errors and breathless-pauses that matches exactly the nature of the dance routine she was performing on that show.

No offense, but you are an idiot. What do you mean 'not possible'? It is very possible and she has done it. That isn't even the most physical performance she has done while singing live. She is a trained gymnast if you didn't know, and is capable of a lot more. Her Grammy performance in 08 required massive amounts of core strength and yet, she was still able to sing live. Go watch some videos of her Australia tour. I'm sure it will surprise you.

Uhhhhh.

Say what you want about The Saturdays but at least they've took a risk with some of their releases (All Fired Up, Notorious and Missing You). Pink's latest singles could have fitted on to any of her previous albums.
