Does Dermot actually Understand Nicole?

This is why I think Dermot never got the X-Factor USA job. He just wouldn't be able to cope with the American accent.

He seems to never get Nicole or what she is saying or her references. And when she said like "buttah" last night and his complete misinterpretation made me groan aloud. Honestly is he just playing the plank or does he not understand/get Nicole.

What?? I didn't understand Nicole and I suspect that the majority of the United Kingdom and Great Britain didn't either. It's probably a case of not only Dermot not understanding Nicole but the rest of us too.

Don't blame Dermot, blame those who bring Americans onto the judges' panel because Americans probably don't understand what most Brits say.

Does anyone fully understand Nicole? She has a language all of her own!

To be honest I didn't get what she said either

I couldn't understand Kelly that much either, but Nicole lives in her own little bubble and its pretty funny to watch. The difference is Kelly was doing full on Southern American speak, Nicole just picks random words out of the dictionary and puts them together to form an incoherent sentence.

No one is slating him I am just saying he has an annoying habit. To be frank I think he is good for the UK X-factor but he is becoming more grating as it goes along.

This is so true but the result is always quite amusing.

One of the few highlights of this waning show.

He knew, or at least had an idea of, what she was saying and was playing it up for comic effect.

Their interaction has been one of the highlights of this series for me and it reveals what was missing last year. Dermot works well when he has Judges he can bounce off/take the piss out of - he has that with Lulu but with Simon gone there wasn't anyone else last year, now we have Nicole the balance is restored. Hopefully next year we'll have Nicole, Lulu and Simon and the Judge/Presenter dynamic will be better than ever.

It's always hilarious trying to work out what Nicole is on about.

And don't knock Dermot. How else will I know when my Saturday night starts?
