Or even just change the music...
Did I mention I don't like the music? BTW, according to Andrew Benson on twitter, Vettel's problem was just a sensor. So tough luck all round ![]()

Good god, we are going to see some cars! Nice work from Mercedes to get in the front of the queue.

And a Caterham has crashed...
And Lewis has beached it. Recovered it now with this invention called a reverse gear. |

Massa has spun in the wet and Vettel has changed his helmet. Again. F1 is back.
Rosberg is flying. |

After all that, that was quite fun... and by fun I mean chaotic.
Now everyone has time to repair their cars... |

Blimey, looks like there's going to be a lot of "trophies" for sale on eBay at the end of quali'.
Is it just me or has Martin Whitmarsh aged about 20 years over the winter? He looks absolutely knackered and it doesn't help that every time he's interviewed he sounds like Marvin, the paranoid android. It's all doom and gloom. To be fair, he seems to be being very honest and open about it all but, geez, he's pessimistic. Mutterings now about running out of daylight and completing quali tomorrow. |

F**king marvellous. So glad I stayed up all night to watch a dull FP3 followed by an equally dull quali.
Bet all the people who paid for tickets to attend today are over the moon. I'm sure they're happy to accept that the later start time is for the greater good; Bernie and his TV rights, that is. *EDIT* Maybe more appropriate in the broadcasting forum but I wasn't terribly impressed with the way the Sky commentary ended. A bit of muttering from Damon and Johnny then a commercial break and suddenly I'm looking at the start of the 2011 (?) race. Given that they've got the whole team over there with nothing better to do and a whole channel dedicated to doing it on, you'd think they might have found something to talk about. |

I think they'd pretty much talked the situation to death, tbh. Was there anyone in the paddock they hadn't interviewed? Its one thing to pad during a delay but theres not much point in them talking when nothings going to happen now until tomorrow.
As for the late start time, its the commercial reality of F1. For Australia to retain a GP they have to fit into the TV market as best as possible in order to maximise revenues. Be thankful the market hasn't shifted east so much that ut's the European races that have to conform! I do wonder if qualifying couldnt be run a bit earlier, though. |

To be fair, I suppose they'd got to the end of their TV slot (or possibly even over-run) and the original plan would be for an hour of quali' action followed by an interesting half-hour or so of analysis. As it turned out, it just seemed like a long period of nothing much followed by a slightly shorter period of nothing much. Situations like that really show up the lack of depth in Sky's coverage IMO. They've really only got Anthony Davidson in his command module who's capable of offering any kind of technical insight. Ted Kravitz is probably very capable but they don't really seem to make full use of him. Beyond that, Damon and Johnny only ever seem willing or able to discuss the stuff happening around them so when there's little going on they have little to say. And we don't even get the opportunity to speculate about how tight Georgie Thompson's dresses are going to be any more.

Oh, while I'm at it, anybody else hear any of the stuff about Maldonado's funding?
Not surprising he's upset that his beloved president has snuffed it. Apparently Maldonado was getting around £40 million per year in hand-outs. Wonder if Maldonado will still be around next year if he doesn't get the same consideration from the new leader? |

Kinda random but, looking at how many people seemed to have had problems with the painted lines, I wonder if they've spent the rest of today going around the circuit grit-blasting a bunch of the painted lines near corners in case the race is wet tomorrow as well?

So, we are about to have our second first quali of the year. Still a bit wet apparantly. Rosberg for pole maybe?
