EJ just mentioning my sentiments ..... after the 'multi 21' debacle Vettel really should have done the decent thing.

I know it is top class sport, but it would have taken a huge amount of humility to have shown Mark such respect...... and Seb's popuarity may have improved somewhat.

You think Webber would have been happy to accept Vettel throwing him a scrap from the table?

My sentiments entirely.

Also, Vettel had the opportunity today to achieve a unique feat with 9 consecutive wins in one season.

Sometime EJ does talk bollox!

I don't think it would have been a 'scrap frm the table', but a fitting way for Webber to bow out and a gesture from Seb.

Especially as Vettel would have been giving up the 9th consecutive win.

Vettel is ruthless, he has no conscience, and can live with himself when he does the dirty on his team mate. Alonso's respect for Massa, although he does play second fiddle to him, is far better for the sport.

I feel sorry for the Red Bull whipping boy next year.

Good luck to you Mark Webber, it has been a pleasure.

Hear Massa is still crying about his penalty. They all knew the rules and knew the consequences of crossing that line. But rather than hold his hand up and admit he made a mistake, he's bellyaching about how the stewards have got it in for him.

Sad way to sign off his Ferrari career.

Anybody notice what Bottas was actually doing up alongside Hamilton?

Was he trying to unlap himself after a pitstop or had Hamilton dropped back down the field after his own pitstop or summat?

The director didn't seem to do a very good job of showing viewers pitstops so it was hard to follow race strategy.

Similar thing with Rosberg and Button. Button was, IIRC, in about 8th position and Rosberg was in 5th. They both came in for a stop and Rosberg came out behind Button so it seems like one of them must have had a drastic change of pace during the pitstop period.

Classic Hamilton there is a car behind him with DRS but he is too dim to look to see where it is.

He's all wee I'm going round the corner man, hey what happened.

He was attempting to unlap himself with the aid of DRS.

I will actually miss F1, even though it's a one car race. Already looking forward to next year.

One good thing though, won't have to read anything from that child on the forum until next season ( we all know who he is )

Not sure how you work that out, TBH, given that the collision occured while both cars were most certainly ON the track, with about 2ft of space to the side of Bottas.

Hamilton was certainly trying to "squeeze" Bottas but I guess Bottas just decided he'd allow himself to be hit rather than making use of the remaining space.

Shame nobody's ever done the same when Vettel's done one of his trademark swerves at the start.

I agree that it wasn't for forcing a driver off the track. The Race Control caption on the TV gives the reason for the penalty, and in this case it was for "causing a collision". As such, where they were on the track was pretty much irrelevant. Hamilton drove into Bottas. Bottas didn't drive into Hamilton.

Everyone's swerving all over the place at the start! It's probably more obvious with Vettel because the focus is usually on the pointy end of the grid, and that's where Vettel tends to be!

I was referring to the actual racing as well as I believe that if the Red Bull Road Racing Championship carries on F1 racing will lose it's TV audience.
Nowhere did I refer to Brazil.

I'm more concerned about the way the wheel broke rather than the incident itself.
With all the trouble that Williams have had with the wheel/axle area on their cars, I think a serious redesign of their axle assemblies and wheels is needed.

Looking at it now, I don't think Lewis was even trying to to squeeze him either, and was concentrating on his entry rather than on Valtteri.

Eddie was not talking bollox. It would just have been courteous and also a chance for Vettel to show his respect for Webber's great teamwork as his no. 2 instead of showing what he is usually about i.e. Me, Me Me. Just as he has shown in the past with the help of Christian Horner who today once again showed that he clearly favoured Vettel.

As far as I could see the tire came off the hub rather than the wheel coming off the axle. I think the way the tire is attached to the hub is a standard Pirelli design, so it could have happened to anyone.

I don't think Lewis was deliberately trying to squeeze him either.

I think he didn't see him and was moving back across the track to take his normal line. I don't think the penalty was so much for not leaving Bottas room. More for a inadvertently moving across the track in the breaking zone while defending, which as far as I know isn't allowed.

It was similar to what happened with Kobayshi in Spa a few years back. I think sometimes Lewis is a little under cautious once he thinks he has cleared a car.

I'm "out of order" for having a different opinion to you?

Are you having a laugh!
