I think Raikkonen is going to do this.
Ooh, we can talk to Mr Gloomy mid-race now.

Nice job from Kimi. Tidy race and managing 2 stops with no dramas.
Look forward to seeing his podium celebrations and interview. *EDIT* meant to say, as well, neither Hamilton or Rosberg ever seemed like they were really "flying" in the Merc'. At best it seemed like it could just about hold position but not really attack. |

Raikkonen sounds underwhelmed again.

A good race hopefully the start of a good and not one sided season.

Well done Kimi and Lotus. He sounds suitably pleased. Great start to the 2013 season, Red Bull are not the dominant force I feared.
It's really not a good sign when Mclaren getting two drivers in the points is an achievement. They didn't even manage that. Real shame for Hulkenberg, given how well Sutil did you can't help but feel Nico could have challenged for a podium. Last edited by zieler : 17-03-2013 at 07:45. Reason: Fixed a couple of errors. |

![]() *EDIT* Probably worth saying, as well, that Oz has a habit of often yielding oddball results. Might be worth waiting until after China before getting all excited at the prospect of a close season. |

McLaren have started poorly but they are always one of the best developers of a car throughout the season - and they certainly have more room for improvement than any of the other top teams.
The poor start means they will probably fall too far behind to challenge for the titles but they will be winning races by halfway. |

I was worried this might be a Red Bull procession but well done Kimi and Lotus on a very good tactical race and Alonso used his ability to come 2nd.
Least Hamilton got some decent points and Force India potentially could make a big step forward this season. Mclaren will have to improve quite a bit - Button admitted they won't be in contention for a while. |

Very happy with the result!!! Two of my favourites on the podium makes it an awesome start to the season. Glad to see Massa back up near the front where he belong.

Year after year. I'm hoping that they can find a little something next week. |

Interesting start to the season and really just what F1 needs. I'm sure the Red Bulls will be quick throughout the season but seeing the Ferrari and Lotus cars with pace from race 1 is great for the championship. I think Mclaren are going to have a bad year.

I wouldn't mind betting that by the time we come away from China the big story will be "What's happened to Lotus' early season form?" We shouldn't forget that Raikkonen won after doing 1 pitstop (worth around 25 seconds) less than Alonso and Vettel and he only won by 5 seconds so he was, effectively, lapping around 1s slower than the followers. At a circuit where the Lotus can't make it's tyres last, they're probably going to be off the pace. Might be interesting to see whay Kimi's tyres were like at the end though. Is the Lotus kind to it's tyres (and does that mean it'll have problems in hot climates?) or was it that Kimi was just getting on with it even though his tyres were shagged? |

IMHO, a great start to the year. Ferrari are clearly in the fight on race pace, which is where you gain the points. Lotus did well today, but on pit calls rather than pace. Ferrari was the fastest over the race, which is great, (as a Ferrari fan
). What is best is that Red Bull look not so great on race pace. I don't care if finger boy gets every single pole, if he can't translate any of those into wins, it will be good. Forza Fernando, Forza Ferrari!!
