Hmmm, he must have changed his mind between interviews.
In the one I heard, just after quali', he said they'd made progress but that most of what they'd achieved had been to do with improving the dry setup rather than the wet setup which, coincidentally, reflects exactly the results we saw in the dry, where they weren't that far away, and in the wet, where things weren't so great.

I seem to recall that there have been some unlikely "winners" due to situations like this, where people who happened to pit or not pit just before a race was red-flagged have subsequently been declared the winner.”

That's the trouble with Malaysia.

You can have 45 laps of the best racing in the world but then, if most drivers pit for a new set of dry tyres just before it starts to rain (thus forcing them all to come in again for wets), you can end up with somebody coming from nowhere and winning.

S'funny but, given how Oz is usually an oddball race, Malaysia is unpredictable due to the weather and the China race is often a bit odd too, due to the super-smooth track, it's got to the point where it takes a month or more of racing before we really get much of an idea of the real pecking-order.

I wonder if it might be better if Bernie shuffled the races around a bit so we didn't get Oz, Malaysia and China all one after the other?

I see Raikkonen has copped a 3 place grid drop for getting in Nico Rosberg's way during quali'.

Nah,

Height of desperation is Sky interviewing Nicole Sherzinger about how the rain in Malaysia messes up her hair.

Seriously, is there nobody else they might have interviewed instead?

Alonso is out

Why didn't Ferrari pit?

If I was being malicious, I'd suggest Alonso deserves a penalty for deciding to continue driving an unsafe car.

As it is, I'll suffice to say he was just being a dick who got what he deserved.

Yes where was the "You've got something dangerous hanging from your car and must pit ASAP", flag for Alonso?

He crashed too quickly

Shame it is going to be a Red Bull walk. Hulkenberg is doing really well at the moment.

a horrendous pit stop from Force India - Especially having both cars queuing as well.

That's the downside

Still funny. Didn't Button do the same at one point (think he went into Red Bull?)

So funny, at least he has an excuse unlike Button.

Indeed.

That's a sort of F1 driver's version of accidentally calling your teacher "mum" or calling your missus by the wrong name.

Mercedes are doing very well here, and could both end up in the mix for podium placings. Good to see.
