Never really been a Vettel fan but disgusted with his attitude today. A spoilt arrogant brat - not surprised Schumacher is his idol. He is just a junior Schumacher who is so selfish he would put other drivers at risk just to win. Don't think he has made many friends today and fully expect to see him being booed in future races.

Lewis on the other hand was his usual humble lovely self. He actually looked embarrassed to be on the podium.

Am still watching on Sky and take it we are not going to see a press conference?

Totally agree, his first comment about getting Webber out the way was bad enough but to them do what he did was disgusting.

I didn't realise that. I love F1 and get up early to watch but don't usually bother with the conference. Just thought it would have been an interesting one today!

Couldn`t understand why he was embarrassed. If he`d let rosberg through all he would have done is give him 3rd. rosberg had no way of catching the leaders with them being over 8 seconds away. lewis was in front of rosberg all through the race and if it hadn`t been for the mistake of going into the maclaren box and the fuel issue he would have been even further away from rosberg. taking 3rd from lewis would have been wrong.

Sad end to the GP and bad for F1.

Only two races in and Lewis is deploying team orders against Rosberg.

You only have to look at what happened to Webber today to know that Rosberg has started his career as an F1 patsy and how poisonous this is.

The podium was a shame everybody there either guilty or angery or just embarrassed.

Both Mercedes and Red Bull gave team orders which influenced the outcome of the race.

Lewis wasn't deploying anything! He was sat there conserving his fuel as told to do. It was the team principle who told Nico not to overtake. He could have just as easily said "Yeah, go for it"

How is this lewis deploying team orders? If it was clear that rosberg had a chance of winning the race then maybe but the fact is he didn`t. what would be the point of him taking 3rd. its only race 2 of the season.

Maybe Mark will have an opportunity to avenge the situation later in the season. As he must be nearing the end of his F1 career, he can afford to play maverick for the remaining races (maybe at Vettel's ultimate expense and our entertainment).

I think Lewis was embarrased because he is a nice guy and friends with Nico. Also I guess because of the situation with Webber and Vettel he felt a bit bad.




I think in future races Mark will be reluctant to listen to team orders. Shame really he didn't take Vettel out today. Even if he had taken both himself and Vettel out he could have just told Horner that he is sick of bowing down to Mr Arrogant



I have always hated the fact that Alonsso is given preference over Massa. Massa is a lovely guy and Alonso another arrogant one although admittedly a good driver.

The winner of the race should win on their driving ability not because their team order the other driver to let them

To be fair, I don't think it would have been wrong for Rosberg to have taken the place. It would simply have been racing.

Apparently, most of the teams operate a policy where they don't encourage their drivers to swap positions after the final pitstop, though, so it's just a case of abiding by the team rules.

Course, it is possible that a driver might take advantage of such a rule by running a fast fuel map in the early stages of the race so that, at the end, they're in front of their team-mate even though the other guy IS in a strong position to challenge.

Still, one must assume that both drivers are aware of any team rules and they're both able to run their races with any such rules in mind.

I am a big fan of Lewis and always want him to do well but I did think if Nico was able to pass him he should have been allowed to. As great as it was for Lewis to be on the podium I think, as I said in my previous post, that the drivers' positions should be on their abilities not because their team give orders.

With Red Bull and McClaren it seems silly so early in the season. I could understand it towards the end although I still think it is wrong.

At least Lewis was humble enough to say he thought Nico should have been on the podium unlike the smug arrogant Vettel

It wouldnt have benefited anyone this early in the season so I think it was right that lewis kept 3rd.

It's funny how in isolation, when they appear on programmes like Top Gear or whatever, most F1 drivers seem pretty nice.

When Vettel appeared on TG he seemed like a nice enough fella and even Schuey did too.

It's only in-extremis that you really see the extremes of a drivers character though.
You saw the worst of Schuey in 1995 when he ran Damon Hill off the track, and again in 1997 when he tried the same thing with Villeneuve, and then again when he parked his car in the final corner at Monaco and again when he tried to run Barrichello into the pit wall at Hungary (?).

Same thing applies to Alonso.
His pit-lane strop when he refused to clear the pit box was an example of what he's capable of and his waved insults to Petrov (who, effectively, lost him the 2011 championship by refusing to yield position to him) in Abu Dhabi were another example of poor sportsmanship.

Button showed a similar side of his character when he tried to steal the lead off Hamilton in Turkey in 2011 and now Vettel has done the same thing.

I think most drivers do things they're not proud of at one time or another but it takes a special kind of underhandedness to do something calculated and premeditated and there really aren't many drivers who actually indulge in those kind of shennanigans.
