There does seem to be some double standards, doesn't there?
Lewis had been on fuel saving from lap 25, but So what? That's just the way the cookie crumbles, and it was still going to be a 3-4 for Mercedes.
But it;s worth keeping in mind Nico had tried two previous passes and was unable to make them stick, despite having his car out in front. It was then that Brawn stepped in and asked him to knock it off, which is a *little* understandable. Brawn was looking nervous, and holding his head in his hands whenever Lewis re-passed.
I'm a big fan of Lewis's, but If Nico felt that he could pass for third, build a gap and still finish the race then I feel he should have been allowed to try. Just because you can go faster, doesn't mean you can get past the car in front. Just ask Alonso about that.
But with the Vettel-Webber incident, I'm firmly on Vettel's side if I'm honest, despite completely disliking the guy. Just like Lewis, Webber was fuel saving and the fact that Vettel was not, doesn't matter a toss. It's racing, and I felt there was no reason to (other than to minimise the risk) to not allow Vettel to fight for the win.
