What about Rosbergs pace up until the safety car. He had no answer what so ever
Did it occur to you that the problem is simply following another car, regardless of who the driver is?

Lol dumbest thing I've ever seen worse than China 2007.

It's monaco babey always stay out never give up track position.

Arrogance from Mercedes trying to do a free stop. Don't they remember Vettel on the worse Pirells fallen off the cliff and held everybody up.

Get on with it Lewis stop doing everything slow trying to miss the podium.

Be interesting to see what Rosberg's podium interview is going to be like.

I'm pretty sure we can guess what Hamilton's is going to be like.

Not the best advert for F1 when Vettel is admitting, in the podium interview, that neither he or Rosberg were really pushing on the hard tyres and were, basically, just holding-station.

yeah its stuff like this when people ask me why I dont warm to Lewis as a driver, and the stop at Portier wanted to go home stuff (as is now being claimed), its just grow up we know you are disappointed, but sometimes teams make mistakes, drivers make mistakes too, it happens and its how you deal with that adversity, not how you deal with being made 100million dollars thats counts.

I also cant believe Lauda/Wolf, yes you mucked up so Lewis didnt win, but err you still won the race guys, still finished with 2 drivers on the podium, no need to make out like heads will roll for it surely.

Seems fairly reasonable to be contrite when your engineers screwed-up and it cost one of your drivers the win, even if it's another one of your drivers who inherited the win.

All the commentators are having a real go at Mercedes ....... Ok so hindsight is a wonderful thing.

However, the driver's these days are so led by the nose with the pit to car radio, giving instructions, what to do and advice on other drivers, it seems they no longer can think for themselves.

I hate all this communication during a race, some of it is ludicrous which is why I love Rainkonen's cutting responses like 'Yeah, yeah, I know how to drive'.

Seems like too much information has lost Lewis the race.

Perhaps the winners and podium are considered more newsworthy than the guy who finished in 8th?

Yip all this falling over their self's to say sorry is a bit embarrassing. If Lewis had a bit more race craft and was the great team leader he claims to be he should have made the call himself and said I am no stopping.

David Croft is a bit of a numpty tweeting the Mercedes team asking, mid race, why they brought Lewis in ........ As if they were ever going to reply.

Please now, leave Mercedes alone, we know what happened, stop going on and on about it you know it all lot.

Seems like quite the opposite here.

Hamilton can't see Rosberg, behind him, so he has no idea if Rosberg is 10 seconds behind, or 20 seconds or a whole minute behind so it's not like Hamilton can make a decision like that.
All he can do is rely on the engineers.

Baffling thing is why Mercedes would decide to change a set of tyres that he was planning on running to the end of the race anyway at all.

In which case you'd be on here calling him all names under the sun for not listening to the team just because you don't like him. Leave it out, it's getting boring.

You seem rather, erm, conflicted.
It was sarcastic. Lewis wants to lead the team we all know that

The old pit board hung over the railings used to be fine at telling the driver's the gap.

Although i do dislike Hamilton and support Ferrari you do have to feel for Hamilton. Poor strategic decision cost him but you win and lose as a team!

In the FIA press conference it sounds like it was Hamilton's call.

Considering the circumstances and the questions to Lewis he has responded very well in a grown up fashion.

In the past I have not liked his 'hound dog poor me' attitude however seems he's grown up. ..... well perhaps he has had PR coaching!!

Now Natalie is asking him 'is it really alright' ...... what does she want him to do, chuck something against a wall and stamp his feet? It happened, he can't change it, so he has accepted it, unlike the Sky lot. That Simon is seriously irritating.

And what input did the driver have into that?

I seem to recall that, as well as the gaps, pitboards also display messages like "PIT".

Just maybe they did it to liven up the race because Lewis was slaughtering them all again, it's becoming embarrassing how much better he is than everyone else. Or maybe they just wanted to get Rosberg the 3 wins.

Is that sarcasm as well?

Seems like Rosberg built a gap over Hamilton when it was Hamilton who was stuck behind Vettel, in just the same way that the reverse happened earlier on.

As a Ferrari fan it might be difficult to grasp, but not all teams use their following driver to protect the leading car.
