I understand with terms of time it was easier but Hulk was in a more dangerous place. Either both full safety cars or both virtual.

Merc got lucky all race. Red Bulls much quicker at the beginning. Would love to see what Ricciardo could do in a Merc as I don't think Rosberg is all that. Swap him out for Ricciardo/Alonso/Bottas, although I know it's not that easy.

Well done hamilton drove consistently this year, didn't constantly make mistakes like rosberg.

Congrats to Hamilton and Mercedes but I really hope someone gets in amongst them more soon. It's a shame it's the weather than evens things up just a little bit and I sure hope Red Bull don't leave as it means no Ricciardo in F1 and Kvyat has potential (unless either are off to Haas of course

Yeah makes sense that, hulks car could be moved with the RV on the run off the digger came on to the track to get the sauber.

Sadly makes the last three races dead rubbers, if you like.

Was hoping Rossi might sneak a point at the end there and was hoping Vettel would make a banzai move on Rosberg and take them both off.

Hulk was in a worse place if they were racing, but a much better place for recovery. I think to get Ericsson a recovery vehicle would either have to cross the entire track or travel a long way down that side to get to the car so they definitely needed a safety car for that. Hulk was right by an escape road. They didn't need a safety car for him so it would be pointless to call one.

If i was german i would be so ashamed of Nico. How such a country creates such brilliant drivers and they produce Nico Rosberg.

Maybe, i'm not aware of where the recovery trucks are situated though.

Merc did get lucky on both calls though.

Without doubt since I got into F1 in the mid 80's, so I can't really comment pre then.

Still a few ahead of him in terms of all time.

Ha.

To be fair though although he's not on the same level as Hamilton, he is clearly a number two to Toto and Lauda and he has to follow some of the greats of F1 as Germans in Schumacher and Vettel.

Congrats to Lewis - in a class of his own this year.

Also, congrats to Sebastian, For years I thought he was the beneficiary of a great car (which he was), but clearly there's more to him than that.

Nico - that's the back door right there in front of you. You know your way out...

We had the Jackie Stewart Era............The Nigel Mansell (who was unlucky to only win one world title) and now we have Lewis whose overtook them in.............every stat I think so yep facts say it all with Lewis being the greatest

Not sure. They looked certain for a comfortable 1-2 before the first proper safety car. Got lucky after that with the VSC and the second safety car negating Vettel/Ferrari's stop in the first safety car.

He has equalled Jackie Stewart now and has nearly twice as many race wins and podium places than him so I think he is the greatest British F1 racer of all time.

With the 1-2 being the other way around but on that track nothing was comfortable today, which made good racing.

He has more wins than Ayrton Senna but it doesn't make him a better racer.

You can't compare eras based on stats like that as there are too many variables - driver talent, types of car, differences in teams etc and although I believe it's about opinion, I can't base an opinion on Stewart as I never watched him drive, i'm too young.

great race Ham drove well all year a well deserved 3rd WDC

must be hard for Nico know this is only real chance of WDC and its gone

hes in the best car and beaten by hamilton both in terms of racing and Psychologically

its down hill from here, Ferrari? as a NO 2 to vettel

we need Fred in the other Merc, Bernie make it happen

Well, that was all over the place wasn't it?

Put Rosberg and Hamilton together on track and Hamilton always seems to get the upper-hand.
And Rosberg managed to throw it off the road all by himself, just like he did at Monza last year.

Funny how chilled-out Hamilton was at the start of the race and yet he looked totally knackered at the end of it.
Shows you how much stress is really there, even if you don't want to admit it.

Momentary lapse of humour from Rosberg when he threw the #2 hat back at Hamilton.

And, believe it or not, with the poor conditions, the close racing, the variety of tyre choices and the general carnage, PASTOR MALDONADO picked his way through it all and managed to finish 8th!

Congratulations to Lewis.

Oh, and the "new" engine Honda stuck in the back of Alonso's donkey didn't seem to be a big improvement, judging by the way Button passed him.
