Nico Hulkenberg is on this week's Question of Sport, 10:45 tonight (a bit later if you're in Wales or Northern Island) and it's repeated at 7:30 on Friday.

Be interesting to see how Vandoorne does this weekend.

New guard replacing old guard, albeit for one race.

McLaren tweeted NEWS: @svandoorne will deputise for @alo_oficial in the #BahrainGP following the @FIA doctors' decision.
So there was some fallout from Fernando's accident.

Still dont like this knock out qualifying. Takes all the excitement out of the last few moments with all the bottom lot trying to get themselves into Q2.

Since all the teams voted to go back to last year's format, why is it still the new one when it's clearly shown it doesn't work.

I dont understand that either. As Eddie Jordan said, it was the one thing that didnt need fixing!

There was never a motion to go back to the 2015 system. It was to keep the 2016 system with 2015 Q3. So some teams voted against it.

I see they need new traffic lights at Bahrain.

I thought horner said the first vote had that option but then it was removed when they voted again and they decided to keep this.

Williams just having a practice for Q3? Their laps are meaningless.

Im behind on the news. Last Id heard, they were ditching the new qualifying and going back to 2015, but it seems the meeting on Thursday they all couldnt agree!

Twix tyre effort from Williams. Got rid of the chocolate and now straight on to the toffee in the race.

Wonder how sponsors feel about this, with most of the cars not out on the track!

Williams are 1.2s slower than Mercedes. If Mercedes are giving them engine parity then thats all car performance.

Silverstone is £60 just to get in for qualifying without going in the Dick Turpin stands

So Hamilton is under investigation and may lose his pole position. He apparently reversed in the pit lane...so yes take the pole from him.

Silly little rules really do ruin this sport. A sport I am really struggling to enjoy as of late.

Just saw the video of car 44 reversing. It's go get the car in to a garage after the seassion. Would be a shame for the driver but this is quite a serious safety rule and I think disqualification is the likely outcome.

Would be interested to know if the session was still under way at the time.

My only hope is that the Ferrari's come out of the traps like whippets again and at least make a race of it for the first 5 or 6 laps......
