Seriously, they should implement my idea of scrapping qualifying and lining up the grid in reverse Championship order: Kvyat at the front to Rosberg at the back. Then you've got an exciting race guaranteed. I bet the back-markers wouldn't be forty seconds behind after ten laps like they were in Australia, anyway.

No, too much chaos! Also no qualifying event to draw the punters. Schumacher had it too easy though - one of the best drivers in the very best, most reliable car, with team orders and a compliant teammate, starts at the front and didn't have to pass anyone, gets yet another easy (and dull) victory. That was bad. Lewis at least has to struggle aginst his team-mate!

I'd like to see the qualifying times set on the recent 'old' system, then 'gently scrambled' to produce the grid order so each driver's grid slot is roughly where their quali time would put them but randomly swap a few with their nearby positions. No-one would gain or lose more than a couple of places. It would be more unpredictable but not complete chaos like reversing the order.

Ferrari are not credible race winners untill the turbo issue is resolved. Even at that the Mercedes single lap pace is still better so I would expect any competitive racing this year.

A full reverse grid would lead to drivers and teams judging who they are really racing against and just jumping out of the way of the faster guys just as happens now when an out of sequence pit stop puts them temporarily ahead of a faster driver. The result of that is that genuine battles between evenly matched drivers will keep getting broken up as they let the faster guys through, so *less* real racing, not more.

Anyone hoping for a return to the old qualifying system is gonna be disappointed...

F1 is just one big mess and with the sport going behind a pay wall soon in this country even less people will bother with it.

I myself never missed a race in years but the last 12/24 months I have really struggled to find my love for the sport.

I like the new Qualifying, it gives me an extra hour to do other stuff, now if they can fix the racing in the same way I could save more time and money and cancel Sky Sport.

I didn't think they would use the 2015 format. You could tell that stupid going backwards isn't progress mentality even if it is the right thing to do was strarting to creep in.

So we can only have 2016 format or something else new (possible worse).

Gees haven't we suffered enough now they want aggregate qualifying.

Here's my idea.

Based on drivers championship position the bottom 12 drivers take place in a 15 min session. After 5 mins the bottom 5 cars are eliminated. Then all times are deleted and they have the remaining 10 mins to decide grip positions 12 to 17.

The top ten in the champioship plus whoever was fastest in the first session go in to another 15 min session. After 7 mins the bottom five are eliminated all times deleted. Remaining 8mins for the top six to be decided.

30 mins of action 10 min gap in the middle ten mins at the start for a circuit fly over and some pit lane queing, 10 mins at the end to get the cars back and for the pole guy to jump around, all done and on to interviews in an hour.

Actually it's quite a simple sport to improve at the moment. Just remove Mercedes & Ferrari from F1, and then it should be quite competitive.

I'm not a fan of Grand Prix, husband is and is watching it on the telly now, just one question, why is the crowd so sparse?

I don't know why they can't just have one 30 minute shootout qualy session.

Suzie and Leigh looking fine.

Thought a drive through penalty for Bottas was harsh there - Hamilton left the door open then tried to close it at the last moment.

The Williams looks very poor compared to the Red Bull.

Wasn't there at least three collisions at the start of the race, have the othet two even merited investigation yet?

Agree with you, don't think either driver deserved to be penalised for that collision.

What are Williams playing at? Another set of mediums for Massa??? The mediums are uncompetitive after 20 Laps, let alone the 27 they'll want to eke out of them now.

Who thought it would be a good idea that Steve Jones should present the F1 programme?

Looked like Mark Webber was just thinking to himself "Shut up and let someone who knows about F1 talk about it!"
