End of the day the stats don't lie. Hamilton has not won a race now for 8 races. This is his longest wait for a win since 2013 in his 1st season in a Merc.
Yes I know his car has not been very reliable this season but it is worrying form for Lewis. I say this as a big fan of his to. Good chance it could be 9 races without a win after Monaco as been what, 8 years since he won there? |

I can't see past Rosberg this year. I think he wants it a hell of a lot more and his mind is in the right place right now to do it.
It will be interesting to see them two fight it out wheel to wheel. However since the Mercs arent brilliant at following, you get the feeling if the person in 2nd place doesnt overtake in 3 or 4 laps, they wont be able to. Still will be interesting to see how that battle goes. |

You know things are economically dire when even Monaco seems to need to skimp on road maintenance!

Sad to hear that the Bianchi family are taking legal action against the FIA, FOM and Marussia. I wish they hadnt. The crash was caused by Bianchi not slowing down sufficiently (according to the official investigation into the crash).
If that is the case, then I am not sure the Bianchi family have a leg to stand on. I am sure the FIA et al have all the telemetry data they need to say as much. Not a fitting end to Jules's memory. Hopefully they will see sense and stop the action. If on the other hand it wasnt Jules;s fault, then they should take legal action. |

I think their argument is that the conditions the race were run under were unsafe and having the tractor on the track was unsafe, and that the team were pushing JB to push under the yellow. I agree it doesn't feel right but I think they have a case - the recovery vehicle shouldn't have been where it was. A car could easily have gone off at that point even at a 'safe' yellow flag speed and the outcome would have probably been the same.

I think the Bianchi family have a good point F1 did make mistakes that day. Everybody knew the scheduling of the race was a desaster in the making and look what happened.
Was nobody else raging when marshalls parked a pick up at the edge of the track this year? About cock pit protection people say that it doesn't look right or isn't F1. If that drain coverhad bounced today and Jenson Button was now dead many people would be thinking differently. F1 still has lessons to learn. |

Firstly we all know that F1 isnt 100% safe. There can always be lessons learned, safety can always be improved. However the plain and simple fact is that JB was going too fast. Other drivers managed to get past the point where he crashed, safely. If he was going at a speed that allowed him make the corner, then nothing would have happened. The yellow flags were out, so as far as I can see, the FIA had done his bit. I am also sure teams would have been on the radio to their drivers to tell them that marshalls and vehicles were out on the track/side of the track, so be careful. Imagine if JB had missed the vehicle and went into a marshall or two and killed them. Would we be blaming the weather, FIA, FOM or would we be blaming JB?
As for the team pushing JB to go faster, that is a different story. I havent heard that before. If that is the case, JB's parents may have a case against Marussia. I have seen races run under far worse conditions than that race. So these conditions werent that bad. Dangerous yes, if you dont drive at a speed that your car cant cope with. It is sad when someone dies. However the drivers, marshalls and fans know the risk of participating in F1. Can F1 be improved, yes it can. However that does not mean that a lawsuit should be sought when a tragic accident happens. |

Well the court case will have to look at all the factors not just one. They will need to decide if you start a motor race when you know it is going to get dark and likely rainy and then when an accident occurs and you do not fully nuetralise the race as is an option to you before deploying heavy equipment and this results in a fatality are you responsible?

That makes no sense whatsoever. If there was a chance of rain, then you would never start a race in the UK or Singapore!!Also have a look at this video of the crash. The accident happens at 53 secs. You can not watch that and with all honest say that the speed he was travelling was acceptable under waved yellows. |

It's going to the courts now so they will be the ones to decide.

Let's hope Lewis and nico can make manage to finish the race in Monaco. It's not my favourite track in fact I'm sure had it not been in Monaco it would of been dropped years ago. Having said that I'm hoping Lewis can get back to Winning ways.

Looking forward to the race as the Mercedes cars will be trying to get past Daniel Riccardo for the whole race without succeeding

Wow, Mercedes has shown how good German engineering is ........... 2 identical cars with supposedly the same engines & set ups but one works & the 2nd conks out - heck if that is the standard of German engineering I will stick with my Honda Accord!

Nico won't be trying too hard. As long he finishes ahead of Lewis that is job done for him for the championship standings. He won't risk any move that might let Lewis slip past so he won't be trying to out-brake Daniel out of the tunnel for example.

More gremlins for Hamilton and this track is not one to be anywhere but on pole if you are looking for a win unless you get some luck.
