Only if it stops and starts so drivers have to make numerous pit stops to change tyres.

Looks a bit wet.

The driver of the safety car is good.

Don't think I'd like to be behind someone's spray though

Red bull didn't have tyres ready for Riccardio. He's lost the lead

Bit of a cock up there, how do you forget to pick up the tires when setting up for a pit stop?

What an odious sychophant Hamilton is, fawning over that other tattooed moron Beiber, he's got to be the least popular British racing driver ever.

And this less than two years after the GBP voted him sports personality of the year...

Don't you just love it when bitter people claim to speak on behalf of everyone else?

Very much enjoyed the race today, best Monaco GP I've seen for quite a while. Really feel for Ricciardo who should have cruised it - the team owe him bigtime. Great drives by Perez and Alonso. Special mention to Hulkenberg for nicking sixth from Rosberg, who played it waaaay too safe. He'll come to regret that.

Are they deliberately trying to scupper Ricciardos chances. That's the 2nd time in a row now his team have screwed it up for him.

Well not really, don't forget that it was two Mercedes/Hamilton strategy moves and some great driving that put Hamilton where he could take advantage of the RB tyre fiasco. Team orders to Rosberg letting Hamilton through, and staying out on the wets when everyone else had gone to intermediates were the factors that brought the tyre messup into play. It also vindicates the change a while back to allowing team orders without restriction.

Mercedes really got the strategy wrong Riccardo would have been 10s ahead of them had Red Bull remembered tyres.

Worst blunder from Red Bull in their history. It was clear they had to stop one lap after car 44 before the slick tyres could come towards Hamilton and the ideal tyre to be on would swing round. How anybody in that team could have not been aware what was going to happen next is a mystery.

Becoming clear Red Bull have the best car. With some steady engine improvement and an areo revolution coming I think they will be the team everybody is following on track next year.

They could do with a more complete driver for next year. If I was Fernando Alonso I would be talking to those guys.

True to the extent that the mistake was not letting LH past NR earlier. Lewis pretty much had the pace over Ricciardo the whole race bar a few laps after VSCs when the tyres were cold. LH was managing his tyres from the minute he put them on hence why the gap never grew until the end. Had Mercedes called team orders earlier the botched Red Bull pitstop wouldn't have mattered. Of course had LH been closer behind the leader when they stopped for inters he may well have not gambled on the wet to dry strategy anyway. It's all hypothetical.

As for the Red Bull being the best car... no, don't think so. Clearly they've leapfrogged Ferrari but Mercedes is still the best total package and normal service will be resumed in Montreal.

Yes. Until today Lewis had had a lot of bad luck this season but I also think, by his usual very high standards, he had underperformed on occasions. Today he was outstanding though. Amazing car control and an aggressive strategy - I'm still not sure how he was able to make the wets last so long and still maintain such good pace.

Dismal performance from Rosberg though. Zero pace and to cap a pitiful display, mugged on the line by Hulkenberg. He certainly hasn't inherited dad Keke's car control genes (will never forget seeing his legendary pole lap on a drying but treacherous track at Silverstone 85).

Feel pretty sorry for Ricciardo though.

Mercedes still have the best overall package but the engine is now having to make up for the car. At a circuit where engine performance was not key Red Bull was the quickest.

I bet Adrian Newey will be heavily involved with with the 2017 Red Bull and they are going to be the team with the areo regs exploited to the max.

Probably the same way that Lewis Hamilton got over not winning last year.

Agree. And also for me the Bib was so overlooked as all the pundits and tv coverage focused so much on Riccardio's bad luck. If Rosberg hadn't driven so woefully and gifted Ricc a 16 second lead in about the first 12 laps, before Mercedes finally woke up and released Hamilton to race, then that pitstop error would have been irrelevant as Lewis would have been so far down the road that a perfect Red Bull pitstop would have still had Ricc coming out only in 2nd place.
