Why not deal with it in private, or even speak to Charlie Whiting about it in private, rather than make a public announcement which is going to do nothing but cause more agitation and upset. And that's not even without considering his actions yesterday, seemingly backing up Rosberg into the clutches of the Red Bull's yet suddenly finding pace when the pit wall gave him a pit stop warning.
Hamilton constantly goads, undermines and slates for personal gain and decides talking should be done off as well as on the track. He's not and has never been a team player and it is he himself who never shows respect to others - at least not within the sport.”
Hamilton had a legitimate concern that he wanted to air re the double yellow flags situation, as did many other drivers/teams. Doing in in public exerts more pressure on the FIA to do something about it compared with behind closed doors.
Doing it while sat next to Rosberg is just a bonus for Hamilton, especially after taking the points lead in the championship. The only thing he did wrong was not to wind Rosberg up more and say at then of his moan that "Rosberg getting pole didn't matter anyway as I beat him off the start and had no issues keeping him behind for the rest of the race".
As for backing him up, so what? It's his race to dictate up to the point where the team says differently. He knows full well that Rosberg generally can't overtake him and he has an engine to look after for as long as he can. Every decent driver would do exactly the same.
If they had unlimited engines to use & tyres that could stomach being pushed for long periods I'm sure he would be pushing far harder, if anything just to demoralise Rosberg and the other teams.
