Its slow yeah, but if the car was up in the air there's no problem in the act of actually moving it. Wasn't it something with the rear wheels locking up so they can't push Verstappen's car? If two wheels are locked, I'm sure a quad bike won't be able to make light work of heaving it in. A quad is about a third of the weight of an F1 car. What a spectacle I imagine seeing the quad struggle on the grass, wheels spinning making a mess of the grass (or gravel) getting bogged down making little headway in clearing the track in the name of safety. What if the car was in bits that can't be moved by a quad? You'll still need a crane anyway.

Some kind of trolley under the rear of the car. Hooks in to the crash structure provides a privot to jack the rear up.

You can push a domestic car I am sure a few marshalls and any sort of vehicle could pull a lightweight F1 car a short distance. No heavy plant required.

Right so we got a trolley under the rear of the car. What if there was a wheel or two missing off the front? Should we have a second trolley attached to the front most part of the crash structure? And a third and fourth on the sides to stop the car from tipping over?

If the car has come to rest on grass or gravel, dry or wet, they need chunky wheels to get any purchase, to make the quad bike's job easier.

Also to be safe, the quad will have to pull the car in slowly. Try to do it fast, the momentum it gives the stricken car might cause the car to crash into the quad.

Is this supposed to make sure the race continues on at full pace? No virtual safety car or anything?

Well F1 can decide to either look for solutions or just have tractors all over the place untill somebody else gets killed by one.

Unless I am mistaken it was Lewis who told Mercedes that the manoeuvre was his fault and it was not the other driver's fault.

He's an actor. Kingsman, Eddie the Eagle... quite highly rated up and coming young actor.

It looks like hamilton will be on pole by miles. I don't think it will be to long before the championship is back in lewis's hands.

Yes, Lewis secures pole, but Nico salvages his weekend at the last moment with second. Now all he has to do is not get mugged by the Red Bulls when they launch off the grid tomorrow.

Lewis is in great position. He even has more engines than Rosberg. Taking extra free engines is the road to the championship.

He hasn't. The engine that went in Malaysia has put him on a parity Nico for the rest of the season. Mercedes will have given Lewis a new engine in Japan. The one from Belgium, Italy and Singapore will be used for free practice on Fridays and backup.

Nope Nico has one engine hamilton has two they confirmed it on sky FP3 I think.

It's due to the won he took at Belgium with no penalty.

Can anyone explain why Vettel called Alonso an idiot during FP3 or Quali? Did Fernando block Seb? A case of the kettle calling the pot black? Tried watching it back on All4, but I seem to have missed it.

Lewis had three new engines in Belgium to last him the rest of the season. One of those engines blew up in Malaysia. Nico had two new engines left after the summer break, therefore both will be on their last engines.

In addition Lewis is on his last MGU-H, but has a couple of spares in other energy recovery systems.

Well if you've been watching the sky coverage they explaibed it at length that Lewis has two engines. Nicco only one.

He better get a move on; there's only three races to go and Rosberg only needs 50 points. And that's if Lewis wins all three Grands Prix.

Rosberg can win the title today if he wins and Lewis finishes outside the top 10.

That's one way of getting to the front.

Lewis has locked up and had to go off the track

Some of Hamilton's starts have been dreadful this season , if he doesnt win the title i think it will be the starts which have cost him

Will Lewis be penalised for cutting across the grass like that to get to the front?
