... I keep saying it but the grid should line up in reverse Championship order. Viewing figures would skyrocket as people who've become disenchanted with F1 come flooding back. I'm hoping Liberty Media has a visionary in their organization.
This would probably cause chaos on the first lap and once everything had settled down those who survived the chaos would replicate what we have now.
I don't understand all these F1moaners. I think it's fine as it is now (puts crash helmet on in anticipation! )

They'd better not start this under the safety car. Pathetic.

Interesting points from Skinj about tyres etc.

I've never really watched F1 with wide tyres. Won't the bigger carcass and more compound help manage the heat?

There is going to be more downforce next year most from wings and diffusers being wider so hopefully this won't cause the same problems as areo flicks and blowing exhaust in to the diffuser.

With this wet weather i think sky are wasting their time with all this Nicco championship talk. I can see a poor finishing position from Nicco today. After this GP i think Hamilton will only have to win at the last race to be WDC again.

Rain is the perfect leveller, it should be a no brainer to have a standing start. These are supposed to be the best drivers in the world, how about letting them show us.

Christ, this is tedious. That sound you can hear is Ayrton Senna spinning in his grave.

I like the idea of a reverse grid in championship order but with a tweak to the grid layout. The starting boxes should be progressively more staggered as you go down the grid. This would reduce the carnage of the really quick cars all piling into the back of the slower cars. No advantage would be gained by say a Ferrari in front of a Merc even on tracks where overtaking is difficult. If the Ferrari held on to the spot ahead of the Merc after the first race, it would start behind for the second then it could/would switch again after race 2.
The ultimate winner of the championship would be the car/driver combo that was able to race & overtake the most cars during the season whilst starting from the back of the grid.
Obviously this affects Saturday entertainment so a 2nd sprint race could take place after a 30 minute qualifying session. 20 Lap race with super sticky and very durable tyres. Points for this race are added to the championship totals only at the end of the season & worth half the main race totals.

Ah you're right. I would be hoping it was Verstappen. lol Don't talk about spray to Lewis Hamilton, he won't see spray unless he's behind the safety car.

So much for the alledged blinder Verstappen pulled. Sounds like most aren't happy with the intermediates.

Half points if less than 75% of the race can be completed. Would benefit Rosberg if they both finish and Hamilton wins, Rosberg 2nd. Stops Rosberg winning it today if he wins, Hamilton 2nd.

Do they have a limit with how long they wait before going back out ? , if it looks like the rain isnt going to stop, would they call an end to the race , surely if the rain doesnt ease up we are going to get crashes when they start the race off again

So if positions stay as they are, this will favour Rosburg?

Yes, means Ros can finish a place or two lower next week if Ham wins this and next week. I'd imagine they'll get at least to 75% distance though.

Sky haven't quite worked all this out yet lol.

Thanks, once again Hamilton gets unlucky!

Unless Rosberg wins and Ham is 2nd (if race ends at less than 75%).

Also all the rain is more risky for Ros than Ham because it's his to lose
