Would be terrible to pull up PD just for a light car. Mercedes have secret illegal tests and Lotus have an illegal front suspension. So why bother about an underweight car.
For laughs should I see if I can find what you had to say about Hamilton getting sent to the back of the grid in Spain last year?

That was back when the rules were being applied this the new F1. I don't see why force india are treated differed from lotus just tell them to have the car up to weight at the next gp.

If let offs are going to be handed out it should be let offs for all. Not let offs for some and pebalties for others.

So I assume if a driver were to deliberately crash into another they should get the same penalty as a driver who cuts a chicane on a qualifying lap? No let offs for some and penalties for others...

Lotus are allowed to change it at the next GP since it was a rule that could be interpreted either way and has only been interpreted by the FIA at this weekend. This has happened in the past multiple times, including I believe with Ferrari's moveable floor in 2007...

Hamilton proving again he's the best out there... Mercedes are so quick over 1 lap. I think Vettell will get the better of him.. and Ferrari will be on the podium (my mate's working and he's 4 from 4 this season)...

Nay nay nay there is no interpretation between three and four. Lotus went out of their way to attach another component in an obscured way. Mercheatdes went out of their way to have a secret test but they are the ones to get away with it.

Pauls car was under weight for 90s yet hes had the maximum penalty. Kimi's suspension is illegal all year he even wins a race and he gets no penalty.

I don't see how anybody can stand by this disgusting corruption.

Four invalid entries in tomorrows GP. For shame.

Of course there is an interpretation between three and four, hence why the car is allowed to race this weekend. They have actually had this feature on their car for the last two years and it has passed inspection numerous times, it is only now that the rule has been interpreted differently that they have changed it.

In 2007 Ferrari had a 'movable floor' on their car at the first race at Melbourne, the FIA then clarified the rule to mean that Ferrari's floor was no longer allowed but the result was allowed to stand. I assume since you want Lotus disqualified that you wanted Ferrari to be disqualified then and therefore Kimi to lose the title that year?

Hadn't Vettel's RBR been "illegal" all through last year until they actually ruled on the holes in the floor and hollow stub-axles too?

That's just the way F1 is. People look for loopholes and then, when they find and exploit them, the FIA are forced to rule on whether they're legal or not.

If you can't grasp this, maybe F1 isn't the sport for you?

Yep (I think the holes was for the first 7 races or so and the argument was about what is a hole and what is a slot), but since this is FF he'll probably declare Vettel's car illegal and therefore Alonso the champion last year. I doubt he'll apply the same to the 2007 example I mentioned above which would take the title away from Kimi.

True enough.

My main point, however, was that most sane F1 fans tend to accept that's the way things are (even when we whine about it) regardless of whether it's a team/driver we support or not.

But, yeah. You've highlighted the flaw in my argument.

Maybe you should apply for a job with the FIA and get the rules interpreted the way you think they should be

All this sniedy stuff that the teams are getting away with needs to be stopped. Spend their energies competing properly instead of thinking of twisted ways to cheat.

Well what is clearly wrong is the fia declaring something is illegal and then doing nothing about it.

No sport can operate by not punishing infraction and retain credibility.

For me these sorts of things are aways wrong. A lot of people want to ignore it while it is benefiting or suiting them. But anything that is rotten will not endure so everybody will pay the price for this shunning of sporting integrity in the end.

To be fair if Mercedes truly said they would withdraw from F1 if they were properly punished for the 'Pirelli test', then the FIA should have called their bluff and said 'Well goodbye'.. NO team is bigger than the 'sport'

That's just imature from you. Thanks for confirming you were acting daft and just being on the wind up. I did for a moment think it may have been a genuine conversation but clearly your not interested in or capable of that.

Also I think you imagination is quite limited. It would be much more interesting to see what many of the Hamilton fans would make of him being at Ferrari. Particular if he was still on only one world champioship and so they have to start becoming tiffosi.
You have some cheek. As if making up silly names is a sign of maturity.

Due a home winner...go for it Lewis.
Although I agree, I have my doubts that the W04 is up to it this year.

Di Resta facing disqualification from qualification after his car was tested underweight.

This guy cannot get a break.

I can't believe they are blaming Paull for losing weight, as the reason for the discrepancy.

I am just hoping that Vettel does not win again. There is a chance he could be 50 odd points clear by the end of the day with Alonso strugging with the Ferrari this weekend.

Although I fear that both Vettel and Red Bull will have the Championships won with around 3/4 races to spare this season

I was gutted to hear that.
I didn't mention it because the missus reckons it'd been in the news previously.

On the bright side, I thought he looked better yesterday than he's looked for quite a while so hopefully he'll be able to fight it off successfully.

Murray will always be THE voice of F1.

Your missus is correct, it was around middle the of June when the BBC reported it.
