If it's a Mercedes I'm sure there'll be claims of conspiracy.

Exactly. And at the end of the day the tyres are Pirelli's responsibility. Plus the tyre failures haven't all happened in the same place, and the amount of cuts to the tyres of different teams, indication of pressure issues and the fact that both tyres have failed are all signs that it's a tyre issue, not the circuit.

Also I think there should be a new rule prohibiting driving back to the pits with a failed tyre that has caused many of the problems.

My money is on the safety car winning the championship this year

Safety car it's probably led the race longer than any driver this season, it's pathetic. This is supposed to be the best of all motor racing, it's not even close to that for me. Everyone is wimps.”

Whilst I understand your point, the safety car is for the marshals, not the drivers. I've never thought of myself as a wimp, but I'm not sure I'd fancy brushing a race track with cars going past me within a few feet at 150mph+.

I hope the safety car isn't on Pirellis.

And let me guess, if Alonso has a tyre failure next GP you'd reverse that rule?

None of the drivers were any danger to the others, and were not dropping debris anywhere other than where the tyre failed initially. No reason to stop them continuing in the race.

Trouble is, Bridgestone made tyres which just let the fast boys get on with racing and everybody moaned that it made things boring.

Be careful what you wish for.

It is becoming a farce, will they be allowed to race or will it be tyre management again.

Maybe you want to try being a marshal and clearing a track without a safety car? Doubt you'd be alive very long.

Have a bit of common sense and respect for others

Should everyone in the Olympic 100m final wear shoes which are designed to fall to bits after 60m?

The safety car has only been out for 2 races this year. It's probably still scored more points than McLaren but still

Well, I certainly don't think so but I guess the people who run F1 decided that, once it became too hard to overtake on-track, cars should be encouraged to pit more.

So, anybody care to speculate on what part of the circuit is hurting the tyres?

I'd say either the exit of Copse or the final corner.

I'm waiting for Bernie to make some suggestions such as allowing cars to fire red and green shells at other cars along with gold coins on the track for extra points

Is Hamilton's DRS not working?

The way Kimi and Alonso caught and passed him while he couldn't even close the gap to di Resta on the straights seemed a bit odd.
