And let me guess, if Alonso has a tyre failure next GP you'd reverse that rule?

None of the drivers were any danger to the others, and were not dropping debris anywhere other than where the tyre failed initially. No reason to stop them continuing in the race.
No evrybody has to take the same fortunes. One of these failed tyres puts a huge amount of debris over a large distance. Its a knightmare for track safety.

Vettel stopping the car there could be bad for him - bringing the safety car out has bunched the pack; either Raikkonen or Alonso could take the full 25 here.
