Rosberg out in Q2.

Looks like the temperature changed toward the end of the session and mixed things up.

Rosberg is out

Mercedes got that badly wrong. Button made it through for once. Just. Hulkenberg did well as well

Result for Hamilton there.

That didn't really seem likely at any point through FP.

Rather half-assed job by Ferrari. They've obviously resigned themselves to being in the "second division" of F1 and are scratching around for alternative strategies rather than fighting for pole.

Hope can have more luck and be really competitive against the Red Bulls.

Did I see Norbert Haug in the Mercedes garage today? Don't think he was wearing any Mercedes gear but just wondering if he was there as a guest or in some other capacity?

Great to see Hulkenberg getting into the Q3 and getting a decent position on the grid. Such a nice driver who has been struggling this year. Be nice to see him have a good race.

Obviously the Nurburgring is not a Force India track. Think Sutil has been great since his return and will be interesting to see what he can do from 15th on the grid.

Credit to Lotus for attempting to go for pole position even though it seemed unlikely for them. Great job by Lewis to stick the Merc on pole ahead of the Red Bulls. Should make for a very interesting race.

Sounds like "spin" of the highest order.

As I said before, I'm sure teams are already bound by the rules to ensure they're running their tyres within the supplier's spec's.
I'd say this is the FIA making an empty gesture as a means of deflecting criticism from their tyre supplier.
The problem is the FIA rules. The correct resolution is to allow multiple tyre suppliers and in season testing. The public reason for not allowing this to save costs in basically b******t. Back in the day when money was no object, Ferrari were spending almost as much as everyone put together and still couldn't win! If FIA and Bernie would stop taking gross amounts of money out of the sport for administrative requirements, that would save a lot. Let the teams spend on R&D, please remember that F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport therefore it needs to push the boundaries of what is possible, but to do so safely means ideas needs to be tested.

LH: My girlfriend dumped me boo hoo.

Sky: Wow amazing how honest Lewis is being thar must have been hard for him.

Well he normally tells lies so I suppose it would be hard for him. Good to hear Hamilton admit hes made bad decisions and done mistakes and bad things.

But really what has this claptrap got to do with the sport.

And your comments on Alonso's complete and utter failure to deliver anything this week?

That's got everything to do with this sport. Same you didn't think to comment on this rather than something nothing to do with the sport.

Give him chance! They haven't even started the race yet.

On a serious note though, don't rise to the bait. I can promise that not all us Ferrari/Alonso fans are quite as out there with our opinions. I just tend to scroll past now. No offense Forza...

I keep expecting Toto Wolff to say 'Come with me if you want to live' or 'Get to da choppa' whenever he speaks.

Geez, broken fuel pump for Hamilton in the garage this morning and now a seized front brake on the grid?

And they're trying to "Fix" the front brake by spaying it with releasing compound?
That's sure to work.

Not exactly giving him an easy time, are they?

I think he moonlights doing the voice of Rainier Wolfcastle on The Simpsons.

Tell me how did Fernando's partner do at Eurovision last month.

Maybe she's distracting him, and helps explain why Massa is giving him a run for his money this season.

Not a good start for Lewis. Massa did well and interesting to see Perez getting past Button. Mclaren could be on for a good result here thank god.

And moments after I say he is doing well, Massa spins out in an inventive fashion.

I'm sure Button will moan afterwards saying Perez was driving dangerously/too aggressive again.

Do you now say Jenson isn't getting the best out of the car.

Did you ever consider to change your forum name to "Forza anybodyexcepttheblackguy"?
