To be fair (to those responsible for last years car), I suppose they were always on a hiding to nothing as long as they were relying on Ferrari's dodgy wind tunnel.
I was pretty amazed by how quickly Ferrari seemed to come good last year, within a couple of months of moving development to the Toyota (?) wind tunnel.
Massa, particularly, must've been getting to the point where he was starting to think he'd actually forgotten how to drive a racing car and it'll be nice to see him back on form this year in a decent car.
I doubt we'll ever know but it'd be interesting to see some data that shows just how far out of whack the Ferrari wind-tunnel was; that if the wind-tunnel predicted a front wing would give 600kg of downforce and it actually only gave 350kg in reality, or whatever.
Also, related to Massa, I wonder if there'd be anything to be learned from looking at last years results and considering what might have been different if Massa was more comfortable in the car?
I mean, if you look at Vettel's results, he does seem to have a habit of either finishing in the top 4 or finishing nowhere but there were 4 races last year where, realistically, Massa might have finished ahead of him and taken points off him.
If Ferrari can start more strongly this year and Massa can finish ahead of Vettel once in a while, Alonso could be in with a shout this year.
While I'm at it, there's also a likelihood that the reverse will be true at McLaren.
Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt Perez will be taking many points off the big players so if Button wants to be WDC he's going to have to do it all himself.

) but he's clearly more worthy of an F1 seat than some of the other candidates.
