Quite good race really. Most drivers didn't finish where they started so plenty of overtaking and stuff.

Great Alonso drive drama with the Lotus, Williams, Force India.

Only thing I can see people are complaining about is Vettel won and Hamilton went backwards.

A bit strange that people can't just enjoy the sport. If you didn't enjoy that then you should probably be in a parachute.

They were protesting against Shell - the boos during the trophy presentation were when a protester tried to abseil onto the podium! They were stopped but instead hung a sign saying: 'Save the Arctic'. It's all here:

Felt most sorry for Vettel! He probably thoght the crowd were booing him....again

Yeah Lewis and Seb were having a wee routine together and touching each other on the chest. Alonso wasn't interested and was of a serious mood.

Don't know what was up with DC that he didn't bring his own clothes. All the silly acting up on podium its not such a surprise what they did.

Very dull race today. Not sure about others on here but for me personally I have found this season on a whole to be dull.

You knew after the 1st lap that unless Vettel crashed or something went wrong with his car, then he would win.

The most boring race I've seen at Spa in a long time, rain was the only chance to spice it up but alas it never came.

Lots of moaning the race was boring and I'm convinced this is just sour grapes because Red Bull won. Experienced race fans should know that a dominate win doesn't make the whole GP boring. After all Vettel is just one car.

Other than the air space Vettel occupied 10s ahead of everybody the only consistent action dead zone was between 3rd and 4th place. This was the two Mercedes running line astern not racing each other team orders firmly in place.

You are just a embarrassment to this forum. I am not to sure how old you are but reading what you post during the race you come across as about 12/13 years old and I honestly mean that.

If you are actually a adult then you should be ashamed of what you post on here sometimes, you really should.

It's okay, he's either a kid and doesn't know any better or just a troll who knows exactly what he's doing. I stopped getting wound up by him a year or so back, I just read his posts as a sort of comedy routine these days and have a good chuckle.

Although if he's an adult and he posts his stuff without a hint of irony....then I feel a little sorry for him.

I agree; unless it rains, Spa is quite a boring race, with it being the longest circuit of the season. I didn't get to watch it until about eight o'clock last night and halfway through I was falling asleep.

Vettel drove off into the distance, pretty much all the overtakes were using DRS and the one bit of excitement was Maldonado's clumsiness, not anything to do with skill. In fact the only really good bit was Alonso's overtake on Webber on lap 1.

A boring GP regardless of the winner.

And as for what experienced race fans should know, well any experienced fan would see clearly that there were no team orders whatsoever in that GP, just a lot of cars that weren't fast enough and only one who was.

Crazy that people can't just enjoy the GP regardless of who wins battles all over the place. Alonso doing a 9th to 2nd. Massa trying to come back from 13th. Crazy hourse Kimi charging on with bad breaks. Grossjean racing people. Pastor and pereves at it hard. Four cars squabling over the one bus stop. Ricardo grab the last point on almost the last lap. But all anybody cares about is that Hamilton did a first to third so its all owe is us and the GP has to be boring as part of a mass collective tantrum. Roll out the negative reporting.

Sorry I was the only person in the UK to enjoy the GP but its your loss and not anything I have to feel sorry for, sorry for you perhaps.

I found Spa a bit boring, and that's from someone with no particular feelings about any of the drivers at the moment. Yes Alonso did well to get to where he did but that was because he was out of position on the grid and found his natural position pretty quickly without really having to race anyone. The problem for me is that Spa doesn't need DRS to aid overtaking and actually it hinders it in some situations. Monza is the same and I fear it will be a boring race.

Regarding the previous discussion about RB culture dictating who will take Webber's seat... It's the hotest seat in F1. If it were a Ferrari or (as we saw last season) Mercedes seat they'd go for the best available driver. Usually Mclaren would too but this year they needed Perez's money. If RB go with Riccardo it will be for one of four reasons. Either they think he's the next Vettel (unlikely, he's shown no sign of that), or he's got money behind him and they need it (I don't think so) or another top driver isn't actually available (don't believe that) or they don't want a driver who will challenge Vettel. I think the latter is true. I think RB think Riccardo will do as well as Webber has been doing lately which will be enough to keep them fighting for the CC while Vettel continues to fight for the DC. They'll have a nice, harmonious team for a change as an added bonus. It worked for Ferrari / Schuey for years.

I haven't seen anything for sure on it but perhaps the downforce teams were running had a big impact at Spa as the performance differences were so marked and afaik the summer break didn't allow teams to do much in the way of development changes. Mercedes did say they'd gone for a compromise set-up in case it was wet so maybe RB went for a low downforce set-up.

Sounds about right and no one ever said just why talks with Raikkonen broke down and Vettel would not want Alonzo as a team mate, too much competition.

What was surprising was RBR top speed. They were (before this race) at the bottom of the speed traps in most if not all races. They were known for being great around corners, but low on top speed on straights. This time they managed to be fast in a straight line. Vettel was able to breeze past Hamilton without DRS.

Horner claims talks have not broken down with Kimi. Horner said he has had enquries from some big name, some that he didnt expect. So RBR are just taking their time, to make sure they make the right decision. Which is something they can afford to do. They have the a very good car on offer to a driver. Is Vettel in a position to say who he wants for a team mate? To be honest I dont think any of us are in a position to say. We can only guess.

Strange how you think Alonso would be too much competition, but not Kimi. They are the two best drivers around at the moment (IMHO).

I agree with you, unless RBR go for a established F1 driver who can challenge Vettel then they are just happy to put a rookie driver in and keep Vettel sweet.

Toro Rosso exists specifically to groom drivers for the Red Bull team. With a seat vacant at RB next year it is only really logical for them to fill it with a TR driver. If neither is deemed good enough then neither should really be driving for TR.
