Hi,

Probably a silly question but I have just bought a 3DS for my daughter for Christmas and was wondering if all 3DS games are in 3D by default or does it merely indicate non-compatibility with DSi and Lite?

I'm assuming all 3Ds games will have some 3D ability (not totally sure) but it can be turned off with the slider. However, yes, 3DS games are not backwardly compatible, but DS and lite games can be played (although they are a tad ugly on the massive screen).

What do you mean massive screen, the 3DS screen is 3.5 inches compared to 3.3 inches of the DSi, It's hardly massive.

Probably referring to the 3DS XL which has a 4.88" screen. Which is pretty ugly, pixel density wise, but 3DS games looks far better on it at least, especially in 3D. The effect is far better.

Almost all 3DS games have got the 3D feature on. This is controlled via a slider to the right of the screen and is default at the bottom, which is off.

In addition to that, if you don't want your daughter to view the 3D effect by accident, it can be disabled using parental controls

TBH, my concern is actually the opposite, I would feel disappointed if I bought a game that wasn't in 3D as you've always got the option to turn the 3D down or off if required.

I notice that SuperMario 3D Land does state on the back that it contains 3D images but you wouldn't know that before buying if ordering online.

I guess the answer is to physically check instore first.

No problem. Really, the only time games will lack the stereoscopic 3D is when they're Augmented Reality, and even then some still use 3D
