Hello!

Oh, don't! I keep on watching the scene where Brendan goes over to the slum to tell Ste he's selling up - didn't think much of it the first time, but since watching a few more times, they're looks say it all, and it's painful to watch.

The knowing glances, sad, lingering looks and painful conversations that say it all an are becoming really hard to deal with - I just can't wait for it all to end and for them to kiss on the Ha'Penny Bridge, in Dublin - whatever the lead-up to it is, as I just want it to happen because they're both so bloody unhappy and desperately want each other that I want to bang their heads together, thus making me wanna cry.

And to think men say us women are complicated creatures!
Oh I know

I do care about the run up and I don't want it to look like Brendan punches Ste but Ste goes back to him anyway, even if Brendan only does it 'to push him away.' I guess it's the most obvious way to push Ste away, but it's just sad that even at this stage he could even bring himself to do it for any reason whatsoever- whether it be to push him away, out of anger, just for being a tool...I just think it looks bad

But then I wonder what I would think if I weren't so invested in the show. If I was just a casual viewer I would probably just think 'Oh Brendan punched Ste! I can't believe it!' then when it's revealed he only does it to push him away I'd probably think 'Oh God, he did it to push him away! I see!' To be honest I doubt ethics or domestic-violence would even come into my head I don't think casual viewers really think too much about the politics of the show. At least nobody I know who watches Hollyoaks does. They're just more interested in where the storyline is going. Brendan punching Ste to 'push him away' rather than anything else just makes for a twist. I just don't like it because I think more about Brendan and Ste as a story and I don't believe Brendan would hit Ste at this point, for any reason. There's no real need for him to.

Ah dear, makes no sense. It'll be sad to watch but at this point I hope it's not really really bad. I think I'm hoping beyond anything that it's pretty tame. No doubt it'll be a really big whopping punch in the face though, just to sock it to us more

Sorry, the bringer of doom to the thread.

OT - Delena! When your ship finally docks (sort of) it's just fabulous, cannot wait for Dublin now, you know have got my head around the punch now, don't like it, but as long as it's shown to tear Brendan apart I will be ok. I want as he walks away cos of the sacrifice he's made.

It's on, it's off. Is starting to think that the cross might be a big ole red herring and not pivotal to the downfall of Stug
