the old theory that more eastenders fans vote than corrie fans
DUNDEEBOY

There is always a case for this in voting shows.

Charlie will win on this basis although as an eastenders fan I don't think she has done enough

Like Cheryl Ferguson won CBB or Sid Owen won SCD. It's just a tired old excuse dragged out whenever Eastenders win an award.

The only thing an EE star has won is SCD isn't it? and the last time that happened was back when Kara Tointin was on in it.

That was a studio vote - no one voted on it from the public

I think its more of an age thing. EE fans are generally a lot younger (and more inclined to pick up the phone and vote in these things) than Corrie or Emmerdale fans. Corrie and Emmerdale fans are usually older and know that there are better things to spend their money on.

Sadly Charlie will possibly be in the final three. If she does - I hope she gets the eating task - because anyone who eats those awful things deserves to win ... no matter how boring they've been up until that moment.

Is it really that simple Do darts fans vote for Eric and boxing fans for David and people that like food for Rosemary

I watch but have never in my life voted for someone because they are in a soap I watch. Surely you vote for someone you like. Never watched Made in Chelsea but happy to throw a vote Hugo's way

There is a perceived 'rivalry' between soap fans though, whenever one of their members takes part in one of these things.

Based on any evidence though? Loads of people watch both soaps surely and even Corrie fans found it hard to defend Cotton last year.

Funny...Cheryl Ferguson won BB by a landslide vote remember?
Sid Owen won Strictly didnt he?

It's such a ridiculous statement. She may well have a few EE fans, but then Ashley has PCD fans, Hugo has MIC fans, Eric the darts fans.

People like Charlie because of the way she has been in the jungle. Why do people find it so hard to accept that?

I think you'll find that most Corrie fans despise Anthony Cotton. We're not like other soap fans you know - who will love their characters no matter what!

Besides ... being northerners - we're more careful with our money! Why waste money phoning in when other people can pay for your entertainment?

So soap fans don't vote for characters in their favoured soap I agree tbh. People vote for camp mates they like. Hugo could never have been in there this long otherwise

This is not just some "old theory". It is a well-established, time-tested, empirically evidenced, proven fact.

Even the cause-and-effect mechanics of this, what you dare call "theory", are well-known and easily demonstrable. Millions -- if not billions -- of lives depend on The Law Of Eastenders Fans Outvoting Corrie Fans every second of every day.

I don't understand this 'soap fans' thing

Does it mean that people vote for the 'soap character' rather than the real person ? .... or does it mean that fans of one 'soap' feel obliged to take up arms against fans of a 'rival soap' ? ( I always thought people who like soap operas tend to like them all )

Oh. My. God.

You have no idea what a vicious, hate-fueled and deeply partisan world the soap-opera fandom is. Best to avert your eyes, friend. Best to give it all a wide berth. And best to not try and understand it.

You make it sound like a blood bath

... I'll stick to Father Ted, Vicar of Dibley ... and other such wholesome viewing

Nah, at this point it has nothing to do with soap viewers. I don't think Helen was/is a very loved up actress or Rosie appreciated character on Corrie. I think her fanbase isn't very big, and many Corrie fans just wouldn't care for IMC just because Helen was on the show.

As of now, I think most viewers will vote for the person they have seen on the show regardless of their background.

I think Hugo went in with a huge disadvantage but has won some viewers over by his own personality. Helen might have had her beauty as an advantage, but lost voters because of her personality traits.

The opinion of the OP doesn't equate.

On the other hand OP your theory that all the "old ones" are being voted out first turns out to be complete ⚽⚽- that said I do admire your resilience to put these "up there"

I like Charlie but I was surprised it wasn't her out. Simply because she hasn't done a task on her own and hasn't been highlighted much recently.
Wish she would volunteer more.
