It's funny because the wild card opportunity arose this year probably just to secure the poor lass from Essex who lived in a council house (but didn't like to mention it) a chance to sing Adele songs in the live shows. Instead Lord Maloney rightfully won and shall be donning the X Factor crown having performed alongside Jane McDonald.

Thanks Simon for giving us so much joy.

Nah, from the way the set Chris up (final audition showing his nerves and nan, his heartbreak at being sent home blahblahblah) I think they definitely wanted him to win Wild Card, probably to ensure that the older generation (I'm talking 70+) would have someone to relate to. From a producer's perspective this makes sense; most old people would be offended at the idea though.

They just wanted him out by week 4/5 and quickly realised, to their horror, that Chris had committed the ultimate X Factor sin: being more popular than they intended him to be. Thus began the hatched job, as it did with Janet and with Mary.

oRAnGE Against The Machine?

A Christmas turkey of a contestant, ready-basted.

I can understand people wanting to knock the smug grin of Simon's face, and punish him for dominating the charts, but please spare a thought for us loyal viewers who as a result have to endure listening to Christopher each week.

I'm still convinced the people voting are doing so out of spite towards the show, for a laugh or via regional blocking. Personally the elderly type likely to be voting for him usually are more sympathetic towards the likes of Johnny Robinson but they didn't get behind him last year.

You'd have to be quite thick to fool for the shakes & nerves palava.
