I don't get the hate for Charlie. Plenty of parents dump children of Kiki's age at boarding school (I know one family who sent their children to board in Jersey - which is only 9 miles long! - to 'toughen them up' and they were Kiki's age. That is much worse than anything Charlie has done).
Charlie is her daughter's sole provider, for whatever reason. If I was in her position, as a mum, I might have made the same decision, having left family members to look after my child (which I'm sure Charlie has done) and having prepared my child as best I can.
Believe it or not, children of that age can be very resilient and mature. And Charlie has a career that may end tomorrow - she spoke last night of being 'skint', so she's been there. I don't blame her at all for making the most of her three weeks of opportunity, and whether people choose to believe it or not, her daughter is unlikely to be sobbing into her pillow at night! She will be seeing her mum in the footage and has family looking after her. A child her age knows three weeks is not forever, for goodness sake! It's harder for Charlie, of course it is, but at least she's doing something to earn some money and has a job to go back to (unlike some others I could mention...)”
That's what I thought actually, especially as us viewers had the benefit of seeing Kiki's reaction to knowing Charlie was there.
I would think that maybe a child Kiki's age, who will have only ever known her mother being in the public eye may well have taken this latest experience in her stride and a bit of a novelty. But as none of us know them personally we don't know for sure.
Love Charlie, she's one of my favourites this year along with Rosemary.
