Considering you haven't seen the show then there's no need for you to comment yet really, the point about giving permission is silly and just grasping at straws. There was no mention of "oh how could they do that to my daughter" or any talk about permission during the show, just on this forum.

Even if it's true, so what? If she gave permission when the show began that is her right to. It's hardly child abuse. I'm sure that if Charlie had opened the yellow door and seen her child there would be no issue regarding permission right now and everyone would agree that it would be a lovely moment to watch and have happened.

The permission they would have needed was simply to film her child and show her on TV. It's not like she was hanging in a crate above a pit of alligators and Charlie had to win full stars to save her daughter. She was stood behind a door.”

To be fair he/she has every right to comment even if they didn't see the incident. Anyway I'm not exactly sure exactly what your point is.

Of course you are right. People are just doing that forum thing of thinking they have got ammunition against someone and ramping it up to a ludicrous extent.

And what has that to do with whether Charlie and Eric knew that their children were behind a door (which they clearly didn't)? We know that families are shown on tv - they appear on the bridge during exits, and often have a word or two on the spin-off show. That doesn't mean that anyone expects family members to appear half way through a trial. There is something manipulative about the way you are phrasing this, as if Charlie should have made the mental leap that clearly no one else did.

Some people are having a go at the production team for putting Mother and daughter through a seemingly very distressing experience. I think the point being made relates to how far the shows people should go. If they were warned that this may have happened (and Im not saying they were) then it's fair to say that we're conned a tad.

You will have to do better than that.

The little girl will be fine - she is with extended family. They will have made a fuss of her, & explained that she will see her Mum, very soon.

Hopefully, not as soon as some would wish.

Charlie is only bringing home the bacon.

i think things are getting slightly out of proportion here.
yes it was very sad for charlie to miss out on seeing her child in the 'door to door' challenge and sad for her child too...but they will see each other again soon. this is IAC not 'Sophies choice'! her failing to pick the right door didn't mean sending her off to be destroyed by the nazis.

not read the whole thread, but i think the OP is a little unfair

the initial reaction would be one of disappointment - but having missed the family for 17 days, another 2 or 3 won't hardly matter. I am sure the family will stick around now anyway.

maybe they should have told the players what might be behind all the doors, to keep them picking. bit like Deal or No Deal

I quite like Charlie, and she clearly misses her daughter a lot, but that reaction did feel a little bit exaggerated. I'm not saying there's no genuine feeling behind it, because there obviously are, and I still like her, but it was taken to the extreme a bit.

when i say this^ i don't mean charlie's reaction was out of proportion. it was exactly as i'd expect from a mother.
i'm talking about some of the comments on this thread trying to make more of it than it was and suggesting that charlie is a bad mother..which i find utter nonsense.

lets face it Charlie put her child in that position by taking her to Australia whether intentionally or not

Charlies daughter can watch her mother everyday and a lot more than us
unlike us the F&F do have live feed when they all meet in the breakfast tent after an eviction (I know this because of a conversation with David Guest)

Charlie will miss her daughter but she also knows she will see her in a few days if not earlier

Charlie took ITVs money to play a game and her over reaction was IMO part of the game

Everyone would have been going Awwww isnt that lovely and tears would have flowed a lot more if Charlie and her daughter had met up and been parted after five mins (IMO a lot worse than not seeing her)
the difference is that there would have been lot more tears and dramatics from Charlie if she had seen her daughter

OMG OMG OMG....... is this still going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hasn't anyone called child-line yet and had Esther sweep in and take the child to a safe place.

Charlie should be in JAIL with only CRITTERS for company. Until she begs and begs. AND then we should make her do a show with Denise Walsh!!!!!

Count to 10, hon. They're really not worth raising your blood pressure over. If they had the courage of their convictions, they'd stand in front of their targets and tell them exactly what they thought.

They won't. Because it's very easy to hide behind an assumed name (and yes, mine is assumed too) and defame people's characters for no reason other than they can. If that's what people call 'pleasure' then I'm VERY glad I don't live in their world.

They're doing trials for letters from loved ones today.

Would be funny if Charlie fails.

Oh letters!

I never get why these are so important. I recall the girl on CBB "Shread Shread Shread" because she wanted letters from her kids... as she said about 20 times

Charlie knowing her daughter was right there and she didn't get to hug her, I can understand is a bit gutting, it would be frustaring for most of them I think....
BUT Letters? Nope.. they always just says the same thing "you're doing really well, everyone is proud of you and we love you" OWTFE
Pointless IMO

For me, it was the inconsistancy of Charlie's reactions that made me feel rather cross with her.

1. When Eric suggested going for the blue door, Charlie seemed quite happy because "Kiki likes Chelsea blue".

2. When she found out there was pizza behind the red door, she claimed that she wanted to go for the red one, and was seemingly annoyed with herself for not insisting on that.

3. When she found out that there was a family member behind the yellow door, she was again annoyed with herself for not going yellow, saying that it's her favourite colour. Bearing in mind also, she had no idea which family member, or friend, would have been there anyway. The possibility of it being her daughter was only an assumption.

It was this sequence of events that lost any sympathy I initially had, I'm afraid.

I felt sorry for her but she milked it for all it was worth.

I think Charlie will win though, the Eastenders addicts will see to that. She's not brought enough to the show for me to deserve to win it.

Why? The reaction we saw lasted less than five minutes in total. Do you have reason to believe that she went on for longer? If not, she didn't 'milk it' at all; she seemed to calm down very quickly and take a philosophical attitude to her disappointment.

Is this the same close friend in the crew who is interviewed in today's Mail saying that Charlie's mother gave permission for Kiki to appear in the task?
