Did anyone else hate Hugo in that moment? I was actually starting to like him (after initially hating him) but I really don't think there's any need to gloat about someone else being upset like that.

He certainly went down in my estimation.

I thought it was funny, its a tv show, tounge and cheek folks, lets not take it too seriously! (and i want ashely to win, but we need to chill, its a pretty short time to be away from your relatives who they will see in a luxury hotel very soon)

If that's the case, then they surely they would have shown that clip before Rosemary and David came back and before Charlie cried after realising she'd been so close to seeing her daughter. The fact they showed it after makes me think Hugo knew the full story and gloated anyway.

I though they did..

He was in the bush telegraph so I doubt it...but who knows.

I don't think he would be that heartless. I'm giving him the benefit but he's pretty low on the list of faves from whose left anyway so I don't care really lol

That clip was shown before david and rosemary came back. There was only four of them in the camp and hugo didn't know about the family thing.

I didn't like him anyway but I was hoping he was going out after that! What a horrible little man.

I don't think he knew about the family members at that point. Doubt he would he be that cruel. Heard him saying 'i'm so sorry' to her when she was crying when they came back and told the rest of the camp.

Personally I thought it was quite funny. It's called being cheeky, I don't think for a second he meant it. He missed out on seeing his own loved one after all.

Pretty sure it was shown before David and Rosemary came back

No I didnt hate him, but i think it shows that he is young and selfish. He has some good qualities but he needs some emotional maturity and to learn some compassion

Nope, didn't dislike him. He just enjoyed his pizza.

This is like Rosemary's pathetic attempt to pick a fight and demonstrate some fault of Hugo to the viewing public. That failed and so has this.

he said "Eric and Charlie got the game over ... unlucky for them, I'm so dissapointed for them, my heart bleeds in the form of pizza"

yes the interview was done before Rosemary and David returned as they also interviewed Ashley twice and her hair is tied back when talking about Eric and Charlie missing out on pizza and then her hair is down when talking about the relatives prize

Hugo's sympathetic to Charlie in the camp when she's upset about it

from about 6:50

No, you are completely mistaken. They did show that clip before Rosemary & David came back. At that point he cannot possibly have known that a meet-up with family members had been one of the rewards on offer. He was (lightheartedly) "commiserating" with both Charlie and Eric merely on their having missed out on the pizza, because as far as he was aware that was the only worthwhile prize that had been available. (That's why he specifically mentioned his heart "bleeding in the form of "pizza"".) And of course Charlie was not yet really upset, because she didn't know the full story yet either. At that point all she was presumably feeling was the mild disappointment of having failed to land the pizza, which is the kind of disappointment Hugo presumably & reasonably felt entitled to comment on light-heartedly.

Later, when he learnt the full story from Rosemary & David, Hugo did commiserate with Charlie on the possibility that she had missed the opportunity of seeing her daughter.

The episode is available on ITV catch up.

Hugo is totally innocent of the accusation that you have laid against him in your OP.

You give the producers and editors too much credit. You're being a bit naive to assume everything on this show is portrayed fairly.

Hugo makes the comment right before David and Rosemary come back into camp

Yep and look what happened - she was sent packing. I suppose it was a bit insensitive of Hugo but he said it in the hut not to Charlie's face.

I really wish people would watch things properly before posting threads! There are so many on here posted as fact when they are in fact mistaken. What gets me on this one is that people are putting on links showing the sequence of events and that it was the game over thing hugo was talking about, yet folk are still going on as if he did it.
