does seem odd, I'd be taking some time out but maybe he can't afford to and needs the money. I'm not sure how his tour is doing, I don't think his lifestyle comes cheap

For what it's worth, I think sometimes people find it easier to throw themselves into work anyway. Performing, recording, and being filmed isn't what I'd want to do, but Peter Andre clearly enjoys the attention (that sounds judgemental; I don't mean it in a bad way), performing and he clearly thrives on being on stage, seeing everyone and singing, so if it makes him happy and gives him an escape, fair enough. I thought I wouldn't want to do anything at all after my mum died, but I went back to kickboxing two days later, only missed a training session on the day of my mum's funeral, and just threw myself into sport as an escape and somewhere to be happy.

I actually cried watching the last episode of his show. He seemed very stressed and down, I think he was talking about how it's an escape for a while and then he goes back to reality and it's always there.

She's been studying for a medical degree. I took the 'my' as a form of endearment rather than taking any credit for her achievement, supported by the fact he cropped himself from the picture on his Twitter account to make sure she was centre stage.

I agree they seem an unlikely couple but there must be a deep attraction for both of them, all credit to him for for not being intimidated by her brains.

From experience I'd say some men can be insecure about their partner being better educated and having a demanding career. I doubt Emily will be a 'stay at home' wife so if he's really as jealous and controlling as some posters here like to make out he hasn't made life easy for himself so to quote some Madness lyrics 'it must be love....'

Turn of phrase or not, the fact that you considered his having a clever woman (emphasis on the "clever") as a GF as praiseworthy absolutely reeks of desperation and - in truth - makes me really sad for the young, educated, ambitious women of today. Did anyone see the episode - last series I think it was - where PA was having breakfast with the two kids and Junior came straight out and asked 'why doesn't mummy want to marry you any more?' - the look on father-of-the-year's face was classic. Then he replied with some inane remark and Junior asked him why HE left their house, PA replied that he didn't, and both kids shouted 'yes you did!'. Those dont look like damaged kids to me, and they clearly put daddy on the spot - I was surprised Claire-baby did not edit that nice little family moment out of the episode.

I wasn't saying anything remotely like that. Posters were commenting on the disparity between them and there have been silly insinuations that it's a showmance to make him look good. I disagree. I think that being with someone who will challenge him and who he will need to give a lot of support to (first few years of training to be a doctor can be physically & mentally draining) show that he's not the egotist you make him out to be.

I think they make a complementary couple and it's good to see him in such a healthy, happy relationship. Perhaps I do consider him to be an egotist, but I certainly haven't said whether or not I do in this particular discussion or in this thread, so you must have gone very far back in my posting history previously to try and found out if this was true. Why would you do that? An attempt at cheap points scoring perhaps?

I always find it bizarre when FMs check back on other FMs posting history. Weirdly stalkerish yes, but it shows such a terrible desperation to be proved right. You see, this thread isn't about me, nor was our discussion, until you decided to do some peculiar check on me.

Anyone who's read the numerous PA threads will confirm that certain posters crop up time and time again making pretty much the same points and it's difficult not to form an impression of them. I certainly haven't been trawling through your posting history and have no interest in doing so.

For the sake of clarity, I'll rephrase the comment you appear to have such difficulty with which I think was 'all credit to him for for not being intimidated by her brains' to 'Good on yer Pete, she's an absolutely cracking girl. Glad to see you don't have any ridiculous hang-ups about dating a partner who's more intelligent than you are.'
