Hi. I'm trying to play this on the PS2. Got the memory card in with plenty of space but the game just will not load. Other games load fine, so I was wondering is there an issue with this game that anyone knows and how can it be resolved?

Cheers

Ray

So you can start the game up fine but when it loads does it say that there is no data?

Have you checked that there is no scratch on the disc?

When I put the game in it says you need a memory card (which I have installed) I press X as instructed and then nothing happens. The screen just goes blank on me.

Maybe there is an error on your memory card. I'm not sure whats wrong.

What I would do is to take both my memory card and the game disc to a professional. Or take it back to the place where I bought it to say to them the problems and ask them to take it in for scanning.

I wonder if anybody else here who has got a Playstation 2 has got any of The Sims games?

The Sims Bustin Out was one of my all time favorite Playstation 2 games! I had also got The Sims 2 Playstation 2 game, but I preferred The Sims Bustin Out due to the fact that there is a lot more choice of items available to you when building a house than there is in The Sims 2.

I loved the items like the door and window designs, chair designs and hot tub and swimming pool designs when it came to building the house!

I thought that the fancy looking fountain outside Malcom's house and the fish tank walls that you see when you get to the final level in Bustin Out mode were especially awesome!

For the PS2 I have The Sims, The Sims: Bustin' Out, The Sims 2, The Sims 2: Pets and The Sims 2: Castaway. I love them all but unfortunately I lent The Sims 2 and The Sims: Bustin' Out to an ex friend.... The <insert naughty word> broke them both!!

Quality games though

I would never, ever lend my most favorite Playstation 1 or Playstation 2 games to anybody, especially my "The Sims" series games!

Usually, I wouldn't either... I have no idea what possessed me to lend it to him xD

I had the game on PS2 but, since my PS2 started dying and I got an Xbox 360, I haven't played it in years. It was great fun though. I owned the original The Sims PC game and many of the expansion packs but they began to run really slowly due to memory usage, so I spent the last of my Sims days playing Bustin' Out and Urbz.

As I said above, I haven't played the game in years but this post is bringing memories back! I'd forgotten all about Malcolm in his white suit, with his funny way of running! He did have a nice house. Remind me, how exactly did the player get rid of Malcolm in the end? I recall there being something like a 'Kill Malcolm' final goal but he didn't actually end up dead.

Was it something to do with getting him to strip off at a party in the outside/garden house?

That was one of the goals but I've now looked at a walkthrough (sometimes it's just more fun to ask on threads like these first for reminiscent purposes!) and you get rid of him by scaring him e.g. using the 'attack' option repeatedly. Now we know...or remember!

You sad, sad man. Almost as sad as me - I did the same and read a walkthrough over the weekend.

My apologies.

Spent this week avoiding the temptation to hook up the PS2 and dust off Bustin Out.
