Just a thought... as numerous people feel Band Aid 20 is dire; just actually donate however much a single is to charity directly. That'll save on the cost of production, distribution and save on clutter too

If you like it though go ahead... nobody should stop someone buying a single or telling them not too.

That my bit for today
I would not even waste my time downloading Crap Aid for free off limewire etc!”

agreed...although i will buy it just to stop feeling guilty... i think its ridiculous all this hounding of people who have probably got enough to worry about this time of year especially financially!!...very few people need telling how bad the situation is in Africa...but lets face it we will help some people over there and in 10 years it will be the same again...these people are victims of corrupt Governments and a useless money grabbing UN...what about the piles and piles of surplus grain sitting somewhere rotting or so i have heard and of course the debt these countries are in.
The point is buy it or dont buy it ...it will make no F****** difference to those poor sods..you can only do your very tiny little bit....putting pressure on the governments to deal with it in the long run is the best tactic instead of blaming us for the state of everybody elses lives...Its very convenient for them to have these egomaniacs making these singles when most of them could erase the National debt from the interest instead of ****ing with us year in year out...Merry Christmas

No, not the original poster in the thread, but the one you quoted, who said what I described, and which you responded to in agreement, even though I don't think you really appreciated what she said.

Of course it is your right not to care about starving Africans. You have free choice to donate your money to whatever charity you choose by whatever means you choose or not to donate any money at all because you want to spend it on your family or purely on yourself.
It's just that you seem very judgemental of those who make a different decision than you as having fake sympathy and going through the motions.
People give to charity for as many different reasons as there are people who give and if you don't give, it doesn't make you a better or more honest person than they are.

Why bother buying band aid 20. The money will just go on Whiskey and guns like the last time.

i'm buying Mendelssohn, Mozart and Beethoven on Monday
not band aid, I bought that First time round
and as for Steve, I dont even know what he sounds like, I found that every time he was on the X factor I talked all the way through his gig, he seems like a nice bloke, but not my type of music,

I wish him luck

OK, if you agree that we are obliged to buy Christmas cards rather than donating to charity because otherwise the people who make Christmas cards will lose their jobs, rather than it being our own personal choice what we spend our money on, then OK, that's up to you.
