I think I'm going to go on a rice and beans diet! I know people who have paid a fortune for the Cambridge and other really low cal diets and they have not lost as much.

It's impressive, but I should think almost impossible for her to sustain it.

It very much depends how over weight you are .The more overweight you are the more you loose .Much of it could be fluid retention

I could have sworn Colin had lost more. Rosemary didn't look that different, I thought, but Colin looked dramatically different.

Very overweight people can easily lose a stone a week the first two weeks of a diet, then they begin to slow IF they carry on eating low cal. Take Rosemary on here losing on rice and beans, then Lisa on Strictly losing about the same just dancing an hour a day. There you go, that's all you need to do! Eat less and dance........

If Rosemary lost that much then I'm sure David Haye must be getting "additional supplements", because he hasn't appeared to have lost much at all, and it's well known that he bulks up to fight at heavyweight.

Please don't! Getting the weight off and keeping it off are a completely different matter. Restrictive, bland diets tend not to be feasible for the long term. And even the thought of a rice and beans diet is off-putting to me...

Probably so, but it might help her think more about what she eats, she said she felt much healthier.

Fluid retention wouldn't normally account for more than 10 pounds. Even for someone as overweight as she is that's a lot to loose. I can put on really impressive amounts of weight on holidays etc., but I can never lose it that fast!

I think because Colin carried a lot of weight on his face. I noticed on Rosemary's highlights that her shirt was really tight coming into the jungle, but quite loose going out.

She probably took a dump just before leaving.

Maybe the type of fat their bodies used up/lost was different. Maybe Colin used the fat round his organs like his liver and pancreas first and Rosemary used up the surface first like the belly and boobs fat.

Two different types of fat and losing fat from certain areas can be a good thing with some people.

LOL... me too. But it is also about being far more active than we usually are in out convenient lives.

I could do with that in the run up to the festival of eating and drinking

Right, I need to become a celebrity and spend some time in the jungle.

Some of the nasty remarks on here are shameful.
There is always a thing about celebs losing weight, tired old 'working mens club' jokes are revolting and misplaced.

I think Rosemary has been amazed by how much better she feels. I hope it gives her the incentive to lose more weight and get fitter.
I'm sure it was mentioned that one of the reasons Colin went in there was to loose weight and he has, so good for him too.

I googled and apparently they eat mung beans dunno what they taste like but maybe they give you a good clear out that helps with the weight.

True and that's what isn't fair, I would have guessed Colin too.
Men lose weight easier than women do and it shows on them more. I wouldn't have noticed that Rosemary had lost any weight at all. Sorry Rosemary.
She won't keep it up of course and why should she. Some people's frame and genes mean they will never be skinny.
I loved the way she stayed so positive in the jungle and enjoyed it. Her size was never really an issue and she was a good sport.

I love Rosemary, she's a very endearing lady, and has a wicked sense of humour. Personality wins over looks every time. She might continue to lose weight for health reasons but she has never been someone who relies on her dress size for work.

Much of it will have been water weight. As others have said, overweight people can easily lose a stone in the first week or two. After that, the amount lost falls dramatically.

Charlie was so right to defend her from Eric Bristow, she does deserve the credit for losing so much, even though that's not a healthy rate really.
I don't see why someone's weight is anyone else's concern anyway.

I don't think they should make such a big thing of it, to be honest. In the 'what they did next....' show each year they determine everyone's weight loss, I think. A lot of younger viewers watch this and promoting that kind of weight loss is a bit irresponsible, IMO. I think Rosemary's diet in real life must be fairly awful; which is why a drastic reduction in calorie intake had such an impact. David, for example, on the other hand, would have a healthy and quite restricted diet anyway.
