Possible Asassin's Creed 4 next year?
How would you feel about? And what would you do to it to make it great? New era? New time? New character? More of some features or less of others? Personally I think it'll be great as I love the series.

I think it's almost a certainty that there's another Assassin's Creed game next year considering that the series is such a huge cash cow for Ubisoft. I'd imagine that the next game will be a Brotherhood/Revelations style spin off featuring Connor from AC3 rather than a fully fledged AC4 with a new character and setting though.

Are they turning into Activision now? What's with the game a year type deal? Or have Ubisoft always done this? I prefer a wait between games to let the last one settle. I was barely finished Revelations before they about to release III. And it wasn't like there was much difference between Revelations and Brotherhood.

With the amount of bugs and glitches in AC3, they should focus on fixing them first! Plus, with how AC3 ends, it's a perfect time to take a break and aim the next one for the new consoles. It's a new IP from this generation and we've already had FIVE Main Games and that's not counting the vast array of spin offs on the PSP/DS/Vita/iOS/Android, etc.

i'd prefer if they waited till the next generation and go AC4 as a launch title
In the meantime though they should keep doing stand alone games for the vita, liberation was great |

They'll release a game next year but i think it will be a spinoff from AC3.
I really hope they fix all the glitches though. AC4 proper will likely wait till the new consoles. |

AC3 is the glitchiest game I've ever played. They'd need to sort that out for the next one.
I also think it'd be a lot better if they made the game more focused on stealth. The combat is just boring imo. |

I really hope not, I hope they take on board the feedback from AC3 - the ridiculous ending, the huge number of bugs and glitches, the at-times broken stealth, and the story in general.
Take at least 18 months / 2 years out and have it as a launch title. I remember the AC3 devs slagging off people who wanted feudal Japan as setting saying it would be too boring an environment. Whilst I quite like the Frontier, New York and Boston were, at least for me, the least atmospheric AC cities yet. Reminded me of walking around Kensington (Liverpool) as it looks now (orphans and all). |

They will already be doing prep work on AC4 for next gen consoles.
Meanwhile they will have other teams working on at least one annual ittiration using all the AC3 assets already generated. It is a way of mitigating the huge dev costs. Worked out good with Brotherhood too.. If they can make another AC set on the frontier with the bugs ironed out and the mission variety improved then I will buy it. |

Release dates:
Assassins Creed - Nov 2007 Assassins Creed II - Nov 2009 Assassins Creed Brotherhood - Nov 2010 Assassins Creed Revelations - Nov 2011 Assassins Creed 3 - Oct 2012 Judging by the track record there will definitely be a 4th. The series has gone stale imo. Stealth needs to be completely revamped i think personally. |

The stealth is just completely absurd at times, there's a mission very early on, I won't be too specific in order to avoid spoiling things but you have to free some people being held in stocks whilst the obligatory redcoats patrol the area.
If a redcoat sees you in the area he gets very suspicious rather quickly - YET - if he sees the dude who was in stocks (ie the guy he's supposed to be guarding!) freed and running away he doesn't react at all. I believe it's down to the terrible optional mission objectives which all too often they must have had to scrape the barrel for. |

It's not that bad as long as you run round the back and kill the captain first then that's one optional objective out of the way. After that you should be able to hide behind boxes to whistle the guards (if you need to) and get the assassinations from corner spots and unlock the prisoners as you go. The hard bit is planning the route. I really thought that would be the hardest mission but i found the last one in the privateer contracts harder because i upgraded the ship. But i do agree something does need to be done with the stealth you do get caught rather stupidly sometimes.

It's less the paranoia, just the fact that the guard doesn't react at all to the prisoner running away right in front of his eyes.
Some of the mission objectives are good and add to the levels, but some are either inappropriate to the level (ie, tacked on for the sake of it) or rely on the stupidity of the AI. |

Hope not. Ditch Connor, ditch the dull setting, focus on next gen, and don't release a blatantly unfinished game next time.

I must be the only person to have finished the game without noticing a bug.

I haven't experianced bugs although the only time something odd happened was at the start and a rifle was floating in midair. That's it. I don't get anything else at all. It's really strange.

They've released loads of updates and bug fixes since so depending on when you played a lot of them have likely been fixed. I'm at the end of the 1st sequence but lent the game to my girlfriends son. I'll play it when he's finished and it'll hopefully be free of most of the bugs and so better to play.
