Has the interest for this years X Factor died?
Maybe it's just because my favourites are all out but I just don't feel any buzz whatsoever for this series now. Anyone else excited for Saturday or not arsed in the slightest?

I'm not buzzing like usual because Rylan won't be performing
![]() I'll still watch but it won't have that excitement factor this week. I'm normally quite hyped for the finale despite who's in it though as we always get to see our faves come back at the end. |

I wasnt a big ella fan but I think she needed to be in the final (or jade). It needs a girl...Rylan also would have spiced it up a bit.

Yep pretty much dead for me. Really not sure if I'm bothered watching it... I was tempted to try and beat elasticlove in post count in the discussion thread this week but I'm not even sure I'm going to bother watching anymore.

The problems:
1) Tulisa - she has no credibility. She had the least credibility when on the panel but instead of changing her chav image, if anything, she has added to it. 2) No Simon/Louis pantomine - love it or loathe it it was a major part of the show. 3) Same guests every year (with a few exceptions). One Direction appearing yet again in the final highlights this. How many times can we see them, JLS, Leona Lewis, Rihanna et al? 4) The show is 9 series old - it is natural people will tire of the formula. They have tried mixing it up a bit here and there over the years but, in the main, people are wise to it. 5) In recent years, dragging the show over 2 nights for commercial gain has grated people's nerves. Endless commercials, "stories of the night", "what it would mean to be in the final", "dream meeting of idols" (i.e. whoever is getting promoted on the show that week) and "who for you was the strongest performance" segments are tiresome. People are wise to the fact that it is all filler. |

I haven't watched one single show this year.
Just popped in here because I was bored. |

My favourite (Union J) is still in so I'm excited for their performances (even though it might be their last so I'm dreading Sunday
) but everyone else I'm not interested in in the slightest... after this series I wouldn't be surprised if ratings dropped even further. I think people are just watching out of habit now and that's their entire audience.

I know the ratings are down, and any reality contest can get to feel a little dull towards the end because so many people have left the deserted palace. There's also less contestants for forums to discuss so it can feel as though the general interest level is waning at a time when you'd anticipate the opposite.
But I'm still watching and feel that overall this series has been better than last year, certainly contestant-wise. The triumvirate of talent that is James, Ella and Jahmene saw to that. Rylan proved to be as entertaining a performer as two of his predecessors, like The Fly transponder's fusion between Johnny and Kitty. Just as it fell a bit flat after they left, the same will doubtless happen now Rylan has gone, but that's happened a fortnight later in this series and it'll all be over in 10 day's time. Nicole has been great as a judge, Louis and Borelow the same as last year, but Tulisa has seemed disinterested. I do feel that Christopher is dragging the show down like a ton of bricks strapped to the side of the SS X Factor's lifeboat. A real turkey. |

I don't think there has ever been any interest in this series. It was always destined to be a dud one after last year started so well and went so dramatically wrong by the end. And without a fourth judge before the series even began and eventually getting Nicole 'nobody else will do it' Scherzinger to judge just looked unprofessional and like they didn't have a clue.
Of course Nicole has been a revelation and seems to be the only safe one for next year judging by recent reports, but the acts have been quite poor too. It just needs to come back re-energised next year with judges who want to be there and acts that are fresh and contemporary, rather than 'seen it all before'. |

Whatever most people think 8 million viewers is a hell of a lot of people
So that in my opinion is far from dead |

Ive noticed the hype has died off. Its simply not a water cooler type topic anymore. I havent heard any young people talking about it enthusiastically this year.

It all came apart when the girls left. Say what you want but Jade/Ella/Lucy were the three with the most collective star power of all the contestants this year, particularly Jade. Although James is good, he's the only really interesting one left. Jahmene is too inconsistent and isn't improving. Union J are good but they've been in the bottom so many times they're never going to win. Maloney is a joke and it's a disgrace that he is still there.
In short, Jade shouldn't have been voted off, nor Ella. And it was a blow that Lucy left, her presence has been missed since week 3. There is simply no left that is captivating enough or would have a good shot at a career. |

They need to bring back Sinitta and Konnie to spark the same level of interest the show had a few years ago.
