I always keep my tins in the fridge.........if it's at room temperature you can't slice it, it's too mushy

In that heat it would be a tin of slop

As for quality Fray bentos is obviously good but I find sainsbury own brand just as good........sometimes you see a brand you've never heard of, usually in a yellow and red tin with funny writing on it...............I don't buy those !...............

Have you noticed how bloody expensive corned beef is as well? Bloody hell! You could have knocked me down with a feather! A small tin of the best corned beef is minimum £2!!!!!!

BTW - I agree - the Sainsbury's home brand is very, very nice! I'm assuming Waitrose does a good one too - but I'm certain their tins are around £5 a tin!

Yes, I like Sainsbury's as well. That's made me peckish now. Off to get a sandwich.

I'm hungry too now! And I'm on a frigging diet!

Glass of wine! Or corned beef sandwich? I think the wine is winning!

I'm back on the diet tomorrow. Bought a load of salad earlier. My last fling...a corned beef sandwich in honour of IACGMOH. Any excuse works for me !

Yes you can slice it very thin when it's cold like that. It doesn't come out of the tin like mush as it did with Ashley and Charlie the other night.

I've never been in a Waitrose. Not even sure if we have them, in Wales. They probably think that we all live on chips, corned beef, lager and fags. How very dare they. I never, drink lager !

Frigging reverse snobbery is all it is. Corned Beef (the good stuff) is one of the most expensive 'common' commodities these days!

I used to make corned beef hash but these days i tend to have my corned beef on butties for lunch

with mustard or pickled onions, pickled gherkins, chilli sauce, piccilili is good.

One thing i do buy occasionally for a quick microwave lunch is Tesco's cheap range version of corned beef hash which is like a cottage pie but with corned beef on the bottom covered by mash potato................it's only 80p or something like that, have it with a tin of peas

It's nothing like what I know as corned beef hash...........which we always called potato hash............but it's not bad for a quickie hot meal..............

Well if you want to continue enjoying something, then best not know. Spam, beef burgers, sausages, mince etc are no-nos for me now since I saw a program on Tv showing what goes into them. I always check ingredients on everything now. I used to love ham sausage boiling rings - lovely flavour but when I saw they contained 'mechanically retrieved meat' I was & pukey smiley.

I once made Spaghetti Bolognese with a tin of corned beef as the meat base instead of minced beef. It was one of the nicest textured bolognese sauces I've ever tasted!

I've had corned beef before and it's lovely. I also love baked beans as well. I'd have either.
