I really can't stand the taste of artificial sweetener. Aspartame leaves a horrible aftertaste and is really bad for you anyway.
Studies show it's healthier to eat the the sugar version. I have avoided aspartame for a long while, but I've been looking into the evidence and can't find any evidence that aspartame is significantly more dangerous than other artificial sweeteners. I would be interested in finding properly designed scientific studies showing that aspartame is dangerous. I'm overweight, not grossly obese, and have a bad habit of drinking fizzy drinks. I'm trying to wean myself onto artificially sweetened drinks, but I've read that it takes over a month of exclusive drinking before you start getting used to the taste. Returning to the topic on hand, I like most of the items listed. Though in many cases i have to use my distant memories of my pre-vegetarian days decades ago. Except for Dr Pepper. I can't stand that stuff. |

So many people hate things that I love
![]() For me, the list so far is: Cinnamon Prawns (well, any shellfish actually) Pears Tuna Blue cheese and goats cheese (odd, because I am a cheese maniac!) Snotty egg white (has to be cooked through - runny yolk is good though) Offal of any kind (including liver pate) Dessicated coconut Finally, I love eggs and I love tomatoes, but the thought of eating the two together makes me feel ill. If I have a full English, they must not touch, as then both are 'contaminated' and I can't eat either! I think I must have been ill as a youngster after a tomato omelette or something, but I have no memory of it. |

Normally I'll eat anything. But, the exceptions are fish heads and animal heads with what's contained inside. And I don't get the bread and butter pudding concept.

Most of the studies showing aspartame to be dangerous have been done by nut jobs with an agenda.
