A Happy New Year to all the Madonna fans on here. I read somewhere that Madonna is going back into the studio at the end of January or early February so it looks like we have a new record to look forward to.
![]() I think winter 2014/early 2015. Touring in 2015, definitely? |

I can't ever see Madonna retiring because she's too 'driven' and she'd get bored sitting around doing nothing, plus her own kids will be grown up and the others will be growing up when she's 60 so she'll have more freedom. In fact I can't even see her slowing down and she's very fit and healthy isn't she?
She's like the Duracell bunny! |

Madonna....retire??? never...just because a contract ends in 5 years or so time doesnt mean she will stop...in fact it may indeed motivate ehr on...grace jones came back at 60 with Hurricane....Madonna will keep going when she is motivated and inspired definitely.
Who knows where she will take her music and art...but one thing is for certain her world tours of such scale will only be within this decade i feel...she pushed herself a lot with the MDNA tour....so in 2015 i do hope she spaces it out a lot more...do detours here and there and fill gaps in and space it out for her own sake But her energy and presence is second to none.So yeah Madonna and retiring will never ever happen that is for certain...she will know what she is doing and where she is heading .Heres to the new year guys n gals...i have a feeling we shall have surprises in store for 2014! |

I could see Madonna retiring if it got to the point where she just physically couldn't do what she's doing now and has done for 30 years.
As the MDNA Tour showed, she's lost very few steps. But it's hard to imagine Madonna continuing when she can't dance as well or she ends up standing in the middle of her dancers like Cher or something. That sounds like her worst nightmare. Not to mention in 2009 she said she'd find doing a show like Paul McCartney boring. But that won't come for a while yet, I think. She's still in incredible shape. |

No I don't think she will retire as long as her heart is in the music or film production.
Her new album needs to have more of that passion I guess and her musical passions on her last few tours but haven't been brought to album life have been the folk and rock side. She needs to blend this with pop in some way. Some authenticity to her music again. Not a retread to the past glories. Maybe a one off P Leonard song though. Just great pop with substance but in her control. |

William has apparently been dropping hints he is working with Madonna again. If this is true we will find out soon enough. He cannot keep a secret for longer than five minutes.

i am surprised will is rumoured to be back on board considering his comments about the mdna recording process, but maybe it was the constructive criticism she needed and perhaps she took it on the chin.
there is no denying they made magic together musically and he has always maintained his admiration for her, so i hope it works out.![]() will together with patrick leonard, rick nowels, joe henry on song-writing duties and i would be very pleased. ![]() happy new year everyone.

Gigi - I'm not saying that rock, indie or folk is more authentic than dance. I'm suggesting that M needs to do something authentic to her - where her passion with music lies. And judging by her last two tours it's been her rock and folk elements that have been real highlights for her. It has been questionable how much her heart was in her last two albums. She needs to regain her control, her message of substance and passion. This would need to be fused with edm and/or pop to be Madonna at heart.

Basically she has confirmed she wants to OWN 2014
![]() Which means...and I think she must have been recording in secret or getting ieas of where she is heading...just lower platform than i 2011 when she basically had news everytime she went into the studio. I look forward to see/hear where she heads and i do hope that she makes music that comes from the heart and soul incorporated into it all...Orbit has teased a lot too that seems to be pointing to Madonna so we shall just have to see if she does unleash some banging material with him...I sure hope so. Some Electronica/Neo-Soul/Trippy/Funk styles...maybe some alternative Jazzy/Folksy sounds incorporated...doesnt have to be full on "Rock/Indie/Dance" but a fusion of styles acros each song...like Daft Punk and Arcade Fire recently...would adore elements like that. ANyways we shall see....and gorra love that bong

Yes completely agree - I would adore some electro/edm rock pop; jazz funk; classic rock pop; hyper ballads
but please no radio friendly euro dance with guetta, benassi or will.i.am or solveig something a little more fresh and edgy Arcade Fire Daft Punk and Nile Rogers and pos Pharell (which now seems a cert and maybe already in the can) Goldfrapp W Orbit and P Leonard S Price Avicii Royksopp and some surprising collabs (one or two) - blondie; david bowie, paul m, prince; coldplay, u2 - would be my preferred options |

When I hear the word pop/rock I guess I think of the kind of stuff that is on the radio now like Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. I would not want Madonna to do that kind of stuff. People are against dance sometimes, but pop/rock can be just as formulaic and uninspiring.
I like some of the producers boysforpele mentioned, but I don't want her to collaborate with those other mainstream rock artists like U2 and Coldplay. I've always found their music dull. They are hardly edgy. David Bowie and Blondie were good in the past but for me they really don't have good voices anymore. They have that deep raspy thing which I find unpleasant. Madonna's voice sounds quite youthful compared to them so I don't see their voices blending to do a duet. She already did a duet with Prince and even t though I love both of them, it wasn't the best song. It just seems to me a lot of times when superstars work together it's less than what they do individually. She should avoid doing duets with any type of big name superstars. I can't see Madonna and Paul McCartney working together. They would have nothing in common. People complain about her working with younger artists but she is someone who is moving forward and what is happening now. That's the way she's always been. I don't see her working with those other older legacy sort of artists and it being inspired. If there's any older artist, I would want Madonna to duet or collaborate with it would be George Michael. I don't know if they like each other, but they are the biggest male and female stars of the 80's who are still active. George Michael can do the funk thing so that might sound cool. But more conventional rock people like Paul McCartney or U2 is a big no for me. |

I really hope that Madonna has a massive comeback in 2014. Promotion on a scale that we've never seen before. Madonna's face everywhere, performing on TV Chat Shows, Award Shows etc.
And for the direction of her next album I would love to see Madonna do a bit of Trance. I think it would suit Madonna really well, Teaming up with Armin Van Burren, Paul Van Dyk etc. Perhaps not a full on trance album, but a few tracks on there with that trance/dance vibe. It would be epic! |

You know i have looked around over the years on social media....on discussion forums etc and You Tube...and it is amazing how diverse in tastes, age, location Madonna sfanbase actually is...i love it.
And i love that every fan tends to want something different ...I for one would adore it if she just combined all these elements and made one corker of an album with a cohesive feel about it. WHy not a melancholy Trance influenced song? Whynot a Jazz influenced trippy song or two, why not a psychy rock meets techno song? etc would be so cool. Also it is widely circulating today that Pat Leonard is working with Madonna and material rumourd to be Sept.Oct 2014. As for promo...i would love her to do a different style of promoting the material ...like the social media/viral marketing etc. and a couple high profile interviews/magazines EPIC! |

I could never see M working with U2 or PMc, they are older than her and she generally seems to prefer younger people, same with PSB who I feel would work brilliantly!
Coldplay are a big no no too as the singer is married to M's ex best friend. I would like a mix of old and new for the next album. Pat Leonard should definitely be a collab so should Orbit and add Paul Van Dyk, Mark Ronson and Avicii. Sounds like a winner to me. |

Orbit replied to me in a comment i posted o nthat remix...WOWOWO!!!
I think its a case of read between the lines...Madonna/Orbit.Leonard album 13 I am 110% behind this and willing it to happen...and if the Daft Punk speculation is true (they have done work on Kanyes recent album as co-production on the mroe trippier songs on Yeezus) then here is time for something truly epic. Lets see what happens but i love that it is so secret and all the rumours/speculation has started ...lets see... |

omg, it this really going to happen and this year too?
i am so ready for her another return from her. i want lots of promotion though, not because i want her to have big hits, but because i just want to see her getting out there again with her music and then tour the record once people are more aware of it.the patrick leonard rumours seem too good to be true and orbit really would be the icing on the cake. all we know for sure is that there will be new music at some point, but who she's collaborating with and when it will surface is still very much up in the air. however, its all very exiting, the speculation of it all, now that hints are being dropped.

hmm, now i have actually read orbit's reply, i am not so hopeful, but perhaps that is just how i am interpreting his response?
![]() William Orbit: "What I need is for an artist to completely let go and let me exec prod an album for them. The best it could possibly be. Be the best they could possibly and fly higher than the sun. What usually happens is that this sentiment prevails at the outset. Then the record comes out and. er . well . . . But I am utterly useless at being forceful enough to push for something like this. I'm ready to do another 'Ray Of Light' any time, I got at least one in me right now. But how to put that across to artists and their people . . . So I'll just do my own thing for a few months and save myself a headache! Unless Britney wants to do something in Las Vegas for the sheer fun of it! Believe me, I'd make the time!!!" maybe, it is just me, but i am sensing some unresolved issues here personally... its cool that he responded to you though josh... who knows, i might have a few choice words for him myself on facebook at some point.
