I don't mind Avicii. I think his music is more diverse than the standard dj. I really like his album True. It has a lot of different influences. He uses guitars and other acoustic instruments and a country/bluegrass influence. I would say he is more similiar to people she has worked with in the past such as Stuart Price and Mirwais than more standard EDM people like David Guetta or Calvin Harris.
I'm not sure how working with Avicii would stop her from using her intelligence. He's the producer, not writing lyrics. She will still have the opportunity to express herself lyrically. I guess people have this idea you can only be interesting lyrically if you do downtempo ballads or something but I don't see that as the case.
I don't get the whole bandwagon jumping accusation. That would only be applicable if Madonna was someone who never showed an interest in dance music and all of a sudden worked with someone like Avicii. But she has always had a heavy dance and electronic element.

a thread has already been opened on the subject and without any surprise whatsoever, the word "bandwagon" is being thrown around like confetti.
it would be amusing, if it wasn't so easily predictable.
the more i think about this collaboration, the less i am surprised by it. its like with the grillz, the more people complained about her wearing them, the more she wore them.
