Away from Rebel Heart, it is incredible how good her unreleased tracks are. I have had a weekend of surfing youtube and trying to listen to as many rare or unreleased tracks as I can. I have created a pretty nifty album of genuine unreleased tracks and a couple of fanmade remixes. Here are the details:

MADONNA: ANiMAL iNSTiNCT

1: The Beast Within Part One: (Featuring Enigma)
2. Set The Right
3. Across The Sky
4. Is This Love
5. Animal
6. Give It 2 Me (Snap! Rhythm is a Dancer Mix)
7. It's So Cool
8. Broken
9. Revolver
10. Triggering Your Senses
11. Superpop
12. La Petite Jeune Fille
13. I Could Be The Devil
14. Pala Tute (Latte)
15. Hey You
16. Time Stood Still (Extended Version)
17. The Beast Within Part Two: Lamentation

Although not mastered, this is a pretty good sounding CD and if anyone would like a copy please PM me. All I'd need is a couple of quid to cover P&P and the blank disc.
It has given me something different to listen to whilst I wait for Rebel Heart!

They were. But Revolver follows Broken pretty well and Hey You is a nice song that is generally overlooked! It's all about the flow of the album. I did put "Ring My Bell" on instead of Revolver but the sound is a bit distorted - and isn't actually very good. It is a testament to her that her unreleased songs and released songs sit well next to each other. Time Stood Still is also a released track but I like the extended version.

I found a couple more tracks that I (ahem) acquired over the weekend. So, in hindsight, I have changed the tracklisting:

Out goes Revolver and Hey You.

1: The Beast Within Part One (Featuring Enigma)*
2. Set the Right
3. Across The Sky
4. Is This Love
5. Animal
6. Give It 2 Me (Snap! Ryhthm Mix)*
7. It's So Cool
8. Broken
9. Triggering Your Senses
10. Superpop
11. La Petite Jeune Fille
12. I Could Be The Devil
13. Pala Tute (Latte)
14. If You Go Away
15. Often Never
16. Time Stood Still (Extended Version)
17. The Beast Within Part 2 (Lamentation)

If You Go Away is a raw piano ballad. Her voice is quite angry but mellow. * represents the fanmade tracks. I included them because they're excellent!

Bear in mind I've been awake since 4am and smoked a joint and just in case you think I'm some dosy pothead, I only smoke one joint twice a month.

I watched the Grammy's performance again (probably the 20th time by now) and I kind of felt that the monologue during the intro will have future significance when they refer to her career after she's died. It comes across as Madonna showing that she had enough foresight to be able to control the message of how she will be remembered. In my opinion her greatest legacy of all, LGBTQ acceptance. Anyone else agree or am I waaay off track because I'm wrecked? I've edited this message and I'm still not sure it makes sense.

Blimey, please extract whatever sense you can find in what I wrote above.

The spoken part at the beginning of the Grammy performance is from her Art for Freedom project a few years ago. It's kind of a mission statement for Madonna. I see it as broader than just for the LGBTQ community, although of course she is for equal rights there. It's basically saying everyone should love themselves and be an individual and not feel ashamed or down on themselves even if they aren't conventional in terms of what society says you should be. It's universal and applies to everyone of every race, sexual orientation or gender.

Loving For Love is no where to be seen on the iTunes preorders chart. So Unless she really captures the UK during the Brits performance a top 20 placing might be all but a dream! Wasn't expecting this at all. I actually thought she had a big hit on her hands. Hold On hit number 1 on iTunes so perhaps she will need to reconsider single choices for the next release.

preorders of singles is rare on iTunes ....only noticeable in the week preceding release....

anyhow...

lead single releases should be
2. Hold Tight/Ghosttown
3. Iconic
4. Rebel Heart (remastered/remixed)
6. Inside Out

all with Eps...and a video .....

The trouble is, the song was released worldwide in December and has since been readily available to hear and download across the internet. All those who want the song are likely to already have it.

And, where has it been advertised that is now officially available?

It's not officially available until 26th February according to itunes.

You are correct anybody who wanted it probably already has it. This is why a 12" picture disc should be available, this is why official remixes should be available. I like many on here have a complete collection of Madonna cd singles and yet there is no sign of that either. It makes you wonder if the record company actually wants her to have success.

The album is unclear aswell, what are the UK releases? What Records have listed a vinyl, a cd and a deluxe cd but I thought a limited edition with bonus tracks was coming out.

iTunes are listing her record company as polydor, they don't appear to be handling this release very well, shambles springs to mind.

That hacker really f*cked up her charting position, didn't he?

A great DS review of the single today though. And with The Brits on Wednesday, I do think she will get a brief top ten hit. The Mirror has also said that the BBC have invited her to perform on one of the live editions of The Voice. Apparently, she has agreed - provided that they can supply her a 24ft x 24ft bullring inwhich to perform in!

I complained to the BBC regarding the refusal of R1 to play Madonna's new song. They basically replied with a rather abrupt and arrogant response. Basically, this is the jist of it:

I like Madonna's new song, but R1 don't!
The licence Fee is for TV ownership only - no more or less - implying they don't need any of the money for Radio broadcasts!
They will do what they want and will not be dictated to by its audience.
They are not ageist or sexist. At all. Ever.

I was pretty gobsmacked. So, the truth is, the playlist team just don't like Madonna so won't be playing her. It has nothing to do with "merit" but has everything to do with who "they" personally like. Sod the audience, they're not important!

This era is a mess. Why is Living for Love not available to download.?

Because they are waiting for the Brits performance, which is fair enough IMO.

If they'd have released it the same as all the other countries fans would have moaned that the charting would have been affected.

Hi everyone. I can't stop listening to Rebel Heart! I think it's Madonna's best album since Confessions On A Dancefloor and one of her best albums ever overall. I continue to be blown away by the quality of her work here. It also feels like one of her most personal albums, like we've been honoured with a little look into the real Madonna with songs like the gorgeous Joan of Arc.

I think Radio 1's attitude towards Madonna and any other artist who has the temerity to be over 30 is despicable and utterly indefensible. So glad I am not currently having to pay the licence fee!

They should have released Living For Love on Monday. I would be very surprised if it goes top 10 now. Hopefully Ghosttown will do better.

Exactly, that is what I meant by my previous post? Ghost Town is an amazing track.

Well, how jumped up, poxy and arrogant can people be?

Cheeky bastards, i'm so glad I listen to Radio two!

We need a Radio 1.5! I personally don't like Radio 1 or Radio 2. Radio 2 is too young, trendy and too much hip hop for me, but Radio 2 is too slow and boring with too many older songs I've heard a million times. I want something inbetween.
