the hilary devey comparisons are funny and i love that hilary has embraced it, but it is refreshing having madge compared to someone of a similar age for a change. i am sure that some people think making the comparison is somehow insulting, but hilary is a successful business woman and she doesn't seem to care what people think about her image either.

i really do hope so, but i can see why its been delayed now, considering the announcement from billboard. placing the release after the award ceremony and with her confirmed attendance should bring the tour back to casual buyers attention, it's rather clever marketing really.

and yes, your post did unintentionally amuse me, but we all have bad weeks. it reminded me in a small way of when she set her publicist loose on facebook amid the malawi controversy and it occurred to me that we have had quite a dramatic year already with m. that fiasco together with the end of the elton rift, the met ball, the secret project, the glaad awards, her launching herself on instagram and its only may. i definitely think she is upping her profile all things considered and i also think she will return to music a lot faster this time. fingers crossed she wont be inspired to make another movie, because that could be a potential spanner in the works.

Yes, there's always something going on with Madonna. Being her fan is never boring, even though it's tough sometimes because it seems like she's criticized and attacked unfairly more than other artists.
I guess I've been out of the loop but is it true the Secret Project is coming out on May 12? That is Mother's Day in the US and some other countries, although not here. I wonder if the selection of that day was intentional if that is indeed the day it's being unveiled.

I just did it again...i mean seriously...loathe it when people drag up dirt from the past anyway...but seriously posting a media article based on something "Janet Jackson said in 1993" which she openly said she took back in 1995....FFS -_- drives me insane.....and again ido think Madonna is always going to have that love/hate blend because look....31 years on top and where are her contemporaries??? ans of the contemporaries always will lash out ultimately....she has her political mindset which a portion of the US and indeed worldwide will backlash against....she is a Pop Artist by definition (like Warhol to music) but has broken the typical "Pop" standards THEN and NOW...and i love that and may she continue to do so....its like watching a real life superhero make changes to the world musically, imagery etc and i really love that as a Madonna fan....to me she is like if Buffy or Batman was real....we have Madonna...she is 54 and she is kicking butt in a casual sense.

As for her next musical step i really think that she can make something truly stellar now...she can stem out from MDNA...i think she knows what with her casual but massive rpesence on social networking, in the media at these live events...i think she is ensuring everything is being established for the next album and era.... new way to market her music perhaps...

Showcase the visual elements, showcase the audio and circulate and distribute....she is a very very clever woman....i just cannot wait to see and ehar where she shakes it al lup next...we need and Pop needs a kick!

oh dear, i can sympathise with you josh completely, because i have had similar clashes on the forum with some people living in the past and others that are just out to cause trouble. the best course of action is not to rise to the bait, but i appreciate its not always possible. the fan war culture on the forums is tedious, but it just highlights immaturity and the apparent need for attention that some of our members seem to crave.

its never boring being a madonna fan, just as gigi said, but i do feel she went under the radar while working on w.e. and her media profile seems to be on the rise at the moment even though she`s not promoting anything. this is a good move for when she makes new music, because profile is important in this digital age.

Any of you ever seen Innocence Lost? its the movie charting Madonna's early rise to fame. While is fiction its pretty accurate on events and is worth a look if you want to see a take on it.

Yeah it is infuriating SO infuriating but it gets to that point when you just have to let them have it you know? i mean seriously...its tedious and such repetetive rubbish....infuriating but whatever....what i o love though as you say...with Madonna she took 3 whole years out before releasing anything...

2009, 2010, 2011 and then 2012....it was like a quiet resurgance than the massive WHAM POW! that we all knda expected...but looking back i think it was the best thing she could have done really...get the US back on her side....endorse material and the tour to her loyal fanbase and also branch out to the hordes that want to see her world tour...and in doing so pushed her name out thee even more than her album would usually have done in previous eras....it highlighted that in an industry that is buckling a lot that she could achieve anyone elses impossible....a unique position realised...and many aspects she perhaps never knew....the fact that America love her and everyone is still infatuated with her whether they like her or not...she is the centre of the spectrum....and i do love that 2013 we have seen the attention sustained...i mean Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...she is utilising social media the best way possible...an air of mystery and suttle posts and teases to keep everyones attention sustained.

It really is shaping up better for when she releases new music, new material out there everyone will latch onto it more easily now than when she released W.E and MDNA last year....if that makes sense? it feels more natural....rather than three years of quiet near enough and "media blackouts" rather than anything sustained.

Anyways i look forward to the next week too....Secret Project on Sunday and the Billboard Awards the week after, the MDNA Tour DVD release and television premieres too....its very exciting!

i cant wait to see what she wears or what she will say. the golden globes win last year was a massive deal media wise due to the elton feud and her win made it all the more satisfying. although, i am glad the feud is over, i loved the way she completely owned him with her tactful class and just being the better person really in every way imaginable.

it was alright, but wasn't it a tv movie? i seem to remember watching it on "true movies" or something like that while having a duvet day. the dialogue was ropey in places and the acting was second rate, but then that is typical with tv movies. however, it wasn't as bad as the mj tv movie with all those princess diana references.

and speaking of diana and in relation to elton following on from what josh was saying. i do think elton latched onto whoever was big within the media over the generations, diana, victoria beckham and now with gaga. i am glad that feud is over, but it was clear, he wasn't getting anywhere with it really.

actually, it was diana ross i meant, i got carried away with the elton and princess diana friendship. i remember in that mj movie, diana (ross) would speak to him in his sleep and he imagined her speaking to him at the trail. oh that movie was awful.

Yes, I'm really feeling this too. Blood Orange wrote Everything is Embarassing with Skye which is one of my favourite songs. I feel if Madonna wants to do something different than the recent records with some live instruments, this is the way to go. I love more of the indie rock stuff too, but I don't feel that more guitar heavy sound has ever suited her voice, This indie dance/soul type of thing would be something different and fresh but still very Madonna. I think you've hit on something, Josh!
