I can imagine M getting Rupert Everett on board, well that's if they are still friends
From what I heard it's supposed to have just female artists. It has some connection to her charity work of educating women in third world countries. I don't think Madonna and Rupert are close anymore. Rupert has some very questionable political views such as he's against gay people getting married or adopting children even though he's gay himself so I don't think he would be an appropriate person to be involved in this.

would love for M and Depp to do something insane visually together...but alas thats what dreams are made of

Oh yeah female names are the main ones to have been thrown out....well we will see what it all means soon....would be cool to have some guys attatched to showcase equality and forward thinking...but we dont know what its gonna be yet :O...

That is so odd! Denying himself and all those alongside him their much deserved rights as far as I'm concerned. Rather backward thinking, in a sense shooting himself in the foot.

Arrgghh! I still want the Madonna/Gaga collaboration I've been pining for, for the couple of years!

I'm listening to this. The only live performance of Bad Girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCnNb41UoE8

What a great performance! Her vocals are wonderful. I hope she does this live again on one of her tours.

I adore the performance...its so beautiful and rich...the song, the performance...i do wonder why she never performed it on tour and indeed since SNL?

Would have suited the Masculine/Femenine segment recently....but i would love it if she pushed it on her next tour or something...powerful <3

SPeaking of SNL....wouldnt it be a riot if she headlined her own SNL show? I know we dont get it over here in the UK....but she has done sketches ad performances it would be awesome if she helmed her own show of stints, sketches and performances

Madonna and Gaga's SNL skit was fabulous.

OMG someone boosted that Madonna thread I'm not even going to touch it this time. Infact I'm sure that post has been stolen from another site, unless its the same guy, so its rather funny in itself

I'm still waiting for the proof Madonna was successfully sued multiple times over Express Yourself as there seems to be no record of it happening.

The madonna plagarism thread has made me think "really"

People will do whatever they can do to dismiss the legacy but whatever. I am annoyed, angry and in some way laughing it off.

haha, that post must be a copy and paste job, i honestly cant believe someone would have wasted time typing that pile of crap. seriously, who gives actually gives a crap? the lengths people will go to in order to spark some forum attention. i am glad nobody has responded, its tempting, but ultimately, the post was designed to provoke people and its not worth the energy really.

also, i love that performance of "bad girl".

I started that plagiarism thread so I guess I asked for that poster to rip it to shreds.

It really does my head in when people bash M's fans, talking shit about us and calling us'sheep'.

The poster says she can't sing, really? That there clip of her singing Bad Girl (which I also am a big fan of)proves otherwise.

And what about Evita and ROL? She spent six months having intensive vocal training and it definitely shows.

yeah i love her SNL skits...the one with gaga in 2009 was a surprise

and yeah...Madonna has a fantastic voice....very erethral at times and the way she can effortlessly change the tempos/ow she delivers vocally...few can do it so well and expertly.

I have serious deja vu moments about this happening before and a poster put on her her reading poetry in her talky/singy style over an ambient backing...must try and find them but its so warm to hear <3

there is so many websites discussing madonna and her "plagiarisms", along with other threads on here discussing the same thing. so i cant honestly say i understand why you decided to start that thread, but the comments about her fans are unfounded and possibly just someone being deliberately provocative by generalising.

she did have vocal training for evita, but no doubt someone will also cite that as an example of her "copying" marilyn monroe at some point.

I think in Evita she ripped off Eva Peron

that role was a "homage" and a "tribute" though. seriously though, i am genuinely surprised her singing lessons for evita wasn't brought up on that link in the opening post. some of the comparisons there truly take clutching at straws to a new level and it seems she cant breathe without someone pointing out people did that before she rose to prominence.

Notice that Madonnas influences stem from a visual perspective...they are from cinemas past....the golden era of Hollywood and silent films....they are from photography sessions by artists....painting/surrealist artowrk which she has always been fascinated by and incorporated elements in.

She brings so much to the table it is unjust to simply write her off...when in so many ways she is a true original. She doesnt musically take anything, she stems it/is influenced by the past a lot and brings it to a contemporary world and it feels organically done...its brilliant and few master it so well

Anyways....moving it all on as unfortunately people will always try and throw something in there to stir it up and meet whatever their own ends seem to be...Madonna is frikkin MADONNA....there will never be another

Anyways heard the new Avicii song Wake Me Up on the radio across the week and finally seen the video...and it reminds me (with the Momford/Banjo style) of Love SPent in some vibes and of course they have met several times and at the Ultra Music Fest made headlines of coruse ....but dang i really really am digging it....and should she continue Dance themes...this is very cool

Great interview. I do remember seeing that as I lived in the US at the time. I liked her hairstyle then too. But she dyed it red shortly after that for the Fever video and she was also on the cover of Interview with the red hair. When she tried to go back to blonde, her hair got so damaged, she had to cut it short thus her look for the Girlie Show tour. I'm not too big on super short hair on her. I think she looks better with it longer.

Yeah...i cannot believe i have never seen it before...i know that i had seen an interview before (maybe same era) where she was asked where her future is heading etc...would she like a family, where does she see herself? but never this one...i love it...i loved her interviews across this time period...late 80s to mid 90s where she had so much to convey and showcase....i am glad that 20 years on she has hardly changed

And yeah it is sad really...as she need not have dyed it red for Fevers video ...or she could have maintained the red for longer ...and yeah well i love it when M shakes it up with her hair...i dont mind the cropped look...but the pixie cut can deter at times looking back....

She also briefly had red hair briefly around the time of Confessions. I'm not sure I like red hair on her. I don't think it works with her coloring. Also it's kind of hard to colour your hair red and make it look natural. I've dyed my hair red a couple of times it always looks really fake and kind of tacky. I guess it's okay if you're going for a really in your face theatrical rock and roll kind of look. My two favourite redheads are Tori Amos and Shirley Manson. It's easier to make dark or blonde colours look more like they might be your natural colour for some reason.

I suppose because RED has so many connotations that for hair it doesnt really work unless you are naturally red....mmmm yes i lvoed the reds she used for the Confessions look early on...it looked "earthy" if that makes sense....like her more natural darker hair with a fusion of red look to make it more....i dont know...ethereal somewhat? I dont know but i loved the way she used it and the way it looked in her work with KLEIN for the album look and the tour promo images. So cool.

But yeah for some reason the likes of RIhanna when she went red it was instantly a phase people went through late 2010/2011 yet it looked very un-natural i couldnt see the appeal..yet as you say ladies like Florence Welch , Shirley Manson, Tori Amos...it works well (i added Flo lol) and its a natural look that works and functions....it is curious how hair does function though.

Yes, sorry I forgot Florence. Well, Shirley Manson is a natural redhead so it looks amazing on her. Not sure about Florence. Tori isn't a natural redhead but it suits her. Tori's natural colour is light brown so maybe it's easier to get red colour to take on it then if your natural colour is really dark. I do think natural redheads are amazing and unique. I love Nicole Kidman's hair for example, but for some reason it's a hard colour to get to look right through dying.

Dont be sorry ....i had no idea Tori wasnt a natural red head :O...i guess that adds to the natural feel of it and the connotations of it too...wow...learn something new

Yes, and another thing is red is the hardest colour to remove from your hair. So if you don't like it, you have a problem. You have to bleach it out so that's why Madonna had to go for the pixie cut. Whereas if you go too blonde, you can just dye over it with brown or black. And if you're blonde and you go to a darker brown there are semi permanent darker colours that will gradually wash out and you can go back to blonde. Red is hard to get to go away.
