It amazes me how many see Madonna's success as a threat. It must kill them she is the biggest female artist in music. They say Madonna fans are scary, one user actually says that in the topic!, yet I would say her detractors go to great lengths to discredit her with lies. If they don't want people to debate their views they shouldn't post things as fact when they aren't fact.

believe me i am not having a go at you, the temptation to respond is incredible at times, i really do agree. the more personal comments are a low point in any thread and i do agree, that is unnecessary. i tend to leave people too it and resist the urge to respond, but i can understand not everyone feels the same.

I've just read every page in the 'icon' thread and I agree with what you've said about Madonna, her influence and iconic status etcetera and I'm sorry that you received a 'bashing', I do believe she should be included in that thread because the thread title is 'who is the most iconic' not 'who is the best/most talented/most successful'.

This Madonna fan bashing is the main reason I keep Madonna talk strictly in here because even if there's differences of opinion we can have a decent discussion without too much drama.

My 'Madonna, queen of plagiarism?' thread went up in flames once the haters took hold, so I try not to mention Madonna too much outside of here.

I havent read the icon thread to be truthful but I just read the last page, saw unique and tuned put completely I wouldn't even bother going back into that thread while unique is there because there's no reasoning with that person

Apparently it's about 200 million albums and 115 million singles, along with 10 million DVD/VHS sales. Someone on Flop of the Pops did a fairly comprehensive and well-researched breakdown. It's the most accurate-looking thing I've seen in regards to Madonna's sales.

lmao, she is totally trolling the media with those grills. i have never seen her smiling so frequently, but to be fair she doesn't look comfortable with her mouth closed when wearing them. loving the reaction in the media though, even if it is negative, because she knows she's grabbing mass attention for stirring the pot and refusing to conform with age appropriate stereotypes.

I wonder if the live MDNA CD out next month fits into Madonna's 3 album deal with Universal? if so she may only have 1 album left under them.

Is it actually a cd? I read on some site that it's a digital mp3 album. I can't imagine that even if there's a cd that would count towards a record deal. Record deals are usually studio albums, not live albums or compilations of previously released material. I'm confused about her deal. Is it with Universal or Live Nation. I thought it was totally with Live Nation for a certain number of albums and Universal is just a distributor.

Yeah its an actual CD of the whole concert. You can buy it as a separate audio to the DVD or both as a boxset.

I'm not sure of the distributor. It could be coming from the Live Nation arm. It doesn't say.

there is going to be a tour cd released in the uk, france, australia and germany. apparently, the us is not getting a cd according to what is available on pre-order and the label across all formats is live nation/interscope.

i wouldn't have thought that the live cd would be part of her contract for three albums, but i don't know for sure. her live nation deal was signed in 2007 for 10 years, but we still don't know the full complexities of the deal. i mean, its never been revealed exactly how many tours she's going to do with this deal, but with "live nation" sharing in profits from licensing, it does explain why she's so busy with business interests like perfume etc.

brace yourselves guys, acclaimed journalist and top pop observer sabrina o'connor has paid tribute to our queen. of course, its of no surprise whatsoever to find that the list madge actually topped was in fact sabrina's own list of favourite performances, but nevertheless, i will commend her on finally getting through an article without mentioning gaga in a negative way.

she is dead right about her "express yourself" performance though, her vocals are great there and people seem to forget that one due to the "vogue" performance being so iconic the year later.
