Just ask them to beat competitors on trade and you make £1 more i.e not a rip off

if you live somewhere where game is the only store then why on earth would they offer you decent value, it's not there is an alternative two doors away

The only time I have traded in at game was when they were in deep sh*t and were low on stock and I took around 5 or 6 old games in and got near £40 trade for them. Those 2 for 1 deals make me laugh where they want 2 newish games off you plus 99p for 1 new release.

People must do it though.

Had this with AC3 which was only about a week old. They offered £13.50 cash for it despite still selling it for about £45! Went to Cex which is right opposite and got £30.

Thats surprising, every time I try and sell anything in CeX they always come out with "We don't have any cash in the till". Really? So those 5 people in front of me who haven't traded anything paid with magic beans did they?

Considering that they're selling it new for £25, how much were you expecting exactly?

It's simple really, Game give a lower trade value the more popular the game. Makes sense really, from a business point of view. They give a lot for older gen games. game gave me £25 for a PS2 SotC a couple of months ago.

How is it a rip off exactly when you can say no and walk away?

Not anymore, they've gone much stricter over the past few months. It's now different per store with some stores even stopping dealing with second hand games altogether.

Yet another silly use of the phrase "rip-off merchants".

Game annoy me tbh, ok, they do a few good deals but imo, most of the staff are clueless
