I hope that he realises that to be an actor, you have to be able to act. It's not a job you can just dive straight in to like plumbing.

Well, when he lost a big fight claiming he had a broken toe his "sudden" limp won him a BAFTA.

Vinnie Jones didn't do too bad out of it.

Half the people in the latest Expendables film are fighters who moved into movies and can't act for shit. I don't think David wants to become the next Sidney Poitier.

True but not necessarily true that you can't dive in. Some people go to drama school and come out with firsts and it shows because they are brilliant acting. Others, however, just had a talent , learnt on the job and after a time became brilliant too. Some of the hottest most successful actors around never trained and started workng as teenagers (Bilie Piper, Sheridan Smith, Emma Watson) Its not clear that you can just dive in and be good quickly though , but, even there, some people have done it - although most tend to play a limited range of roles.

Yep, a Vinnie Jones type role was my first thought.

Haye can't do a Vinnie Jones role, most of the women in here are fawning over his "ass" and whatnot, he's clearly too pretty for it.

I reckon plumbing is a damn site harder than acting, it probably pays better judging from the last bill I had from a plumber.

I got the impression when he was talking about it he was alluding to Vinnie Jones with regards to future acting.

David is never gonna been another Denzil Washington, but I could stretch it a bit to see him as a B list Ving Rhames.

He can go to drama school if he's determined enough. Good luck to him.

I don't think he'd go far if he was relying on Mickey Rourke, with his track record, to get him plum roles.

Didn't you see his great performance when Ashley screamed.

LOL that was horrific. But I'm sure he'll do well if he really wants it.

Reading this thread, I have realised that I am shallow enough to hope he does make it in acting because I wouldn't mind seeing him on tv (I hate boxing so wouldn't watch it) but hope it isn't a Vinnie Jones type role - use his humour for something else: in something like Hunted or Person of Interest type thing would suit him down to the ground.

Maybe a 2nd rate Eddie Murphy?

A Morgan Freeman wannabe?

Perhaps an Omar Epps understudy?

Could it be he aspires to be the second coming of Forest Whitaker?

There's always the possibility he might compete with Levar Burton for some roles?

How about a modern day Jaleel White?

He could always do the Don Cheadle thing?

Somehow it seems like he would be perfect to fill Kevin Clash's shoes?

Plenty of room for a new Sammy Davis, no?

I don't think there's anything David Haye can't do.
