Whilst I think Hollywood will probable manage to limp on should David Haye not manage to become the next Sylvester Stallone, I do think he has enough charisma and a lovely personality to make it as a TV presenter.

He comes across really well as himself, and has clearly got more brains than a lot of these numb-nut sports commentators that seem to dominate our telly screens.

Would be nice if he was offered his own show.

Isn't he going to have a charity match or something with Tom Hardy?

I think he's under-selling himself and would be much more fulfilled if he were to start - or get involved with - a charity of some description. My bet would be on a charity which takes inner city children away on camping trips. Many city kids never ever travel outside their postcode so are utterly clueless about anything outside that small world. No wonder a gang mentality thrives.

He said "Hollywood". Making it in movies in Hollywood doesn't necessarily require an ability to act. All he needs is a starter role like Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham in a popular British flick and he'll probably be a huge action hero within a year.

The ability to act isn't really important in some roles.
John Wayne for example always just played John wayne and they built a film around that.

Some actors can transform themselves into very different characters, but that's not the case with many action hero types such as The Rock, Arnie, Sylvester, Jean Claude, Steven Segal

Then there are the pretty ones.... just show up and say the lines while looking fabulous

I didn't get the impression that David thought he would be treading the boards taking Merchant of Venice around provincial theatres.

Exactly, he'd be able to play those sort of roles with ease.

I thought he came across really well, but I didn't watch every episode. He seems to have a lot of determination, as do I guess a lot of professional sports people. He seems like an achiever and he seems positive, so I imagine if he wants to do something he will do it.

Personally I have no idea if he can act. But he seems quite natural being interviewed and I can imagine him getting more TV work and I don't see why he can't/shouldn't. Like any job, some people are naturally brilliant, others are woeful even after training/qualifications/experience. I wouldn't say you can jump straight in to plumbing though!

I'm sure it's a lot easier these days to cross over between celebrity trades - sports stars becoming actors, actors becoming singers, models becoming presenters, etc. I guess it's a much bigger, more universal world of 'fame'.

I can see him doing action films and using his fighting skills/stunts, because let's face it, a lot of action 'actors' are hardly brilliant. He might surprise us. Or might totally surprise us and be a rather good actor in drama for example.

'Probably'?

The thing with Vinnie Jones is that he had a mean persona to play with which gave him a head start when it came to imagining him in tough guy roles.

There's quite possibly many sportspeople trying to break into acting in big films. I don't think it's the sort of thing he can just choose to walk into. There's still going to be heavy competition.

Vinnie Jones got a lucky break due to the right film and the right role coming along. And it wasn't by going to Hollywood, it was started by being asked by Guy Ritchie and getting his foot on the ladder and getting in with the right crowd over here.
I think Hollywood became an option for him AFTER taking part in a surprise British hit film.

There always seems to be an expectation after a celebrity appears on these reality shows that they might make it big as a worldwide star. But being realistic you're probably more likely to get on some cheap reality series on ITV2 or some minor non-terrestrial channel.

He already carries an extra persona and does it convincingly so no reason he can't be successful

David Haye the boxer is extremely arrogant, rude, and generally rather hard to like however David Haye the person is pretty much the opposite of that.

I agree that David doesn't have to be a good actor to be in films but I also think that he's going to need more than his good looks and popularity in boxing and success in a UK gameshow to even be moderately successful in Hollywood.

Comparisons with Vinnie Jones have been mentioned- but he was lucky and his friendship with Guy Ritchie didn't hurt either.

Still, nothing wrong with aiming high and David certainly seems to have enough determination to do it.

Beat Klitschko?

I remember an interview with him, when he had just come out of boxing or was thinking of retiring from the ring (I think it was on Graham Norton). He stated then and it may have been a couple of years ago, that he wanted to do "Action Hero" films. I do not think that genre is noted forthe talents of a Royal Shakespearian thespian, however nobody can say he lacks the skills or the body for that type genre of film.

If the Chisora fight was anything to go by, I'd say he had a chance against Vitali.

......although I did once convince myself that Frank Bruno had a chance against Tyson.

He has a chance against Vitali, purely because he's so old and slow and the knees are going these days. I suspect Vitali also knows this, hence why he's not that fussed about fighting him. Plus he annoyed them with his antics last time, and however smart Haye is, the Klitschko's are smarter, and they know the best way to annoy him is to not give him the fight he wants.

Well, he put Chisora down in five rounds, which Vitali couldn't do.......but sadly, I think you might be right.
