Nicole Scherzinger's support for Ashley has been notable by its absence - not a single peep on Twitter, nothing.

Until now, that is. The public vote has given Ashley a 50/50 chance of winning the show and out Nicole comes from the woodwork. She was singing Ashley's praises on GMOOHNow as if they were always good friends. I think she may be hedging her bets to avoid a backlash from her fans.

Agreed. After Ashley let a few things go last night Nicole shows her support the very next day yet Kimberly Wyatt was supporting Ashley from the start on NOW. Ashley's comment regarding the emphasis on Nicole in PCD is pretty much common knowledge and all of the other Dolls have alluded to it at different times. Thus, Nicole suddenly phoning into the sister show is definitely no coincidence.

This! I thought this earlier and thought I hadn't noticed any support on twitter and went on and nothing. Now Ashley is in the final with a high chance of winning, here's Nicole singing her praise.

Ashley said on tonight's show she hopes Nicole is supporting her and is wondering what her reaction has been so Nicole calls in and says exactly what her reaction has been, seems like the most normal thing but of course to you Nicole is just trying to save face.

People slate her for not supporting Ashley and then they slate her when she does support Ashley. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

Plus, it's not as if Nicole called in and was like "Wassup, just here to support Ash!" you can tell she's been watching the show when she was talking about the other celebs and her favorite moments.

As a Pussycat Dolls fan I can tell you that Ashley and Nicole have always been very close. They have similar personalities. So there's nothing fake about this. I don't understand why you bring Kimberly into it.(Who btw has been best friends with Ashley since way before the group happened so there's a completely different bond there.) What was Nicole suppose to do? Tell XF she's packing her bags and is off to Australia for the week? Nicole is actually busy.

And why is Nicole the only one under scrutiny when there are SIX members in this band? Nobody is talking about how 2 of them have mentioned Ashley being in the jungle just once and haven't cared since.

I know nothing about PCD except the songs, but the way I see it Nicole was between a rock and a hard place.

If she'd been singing Ashley's praises all along, we'd all be telling her to bog off and let Ashley shine on her own. She keeps quiet until now, lets Ashley shine as an individual and gets the backlash of being unsupportive and self serving when she does say something.

In summary, Ashley didn't need her, and Ashley to win!!!!

It's common knowledge I thought how the pussycat dolls thing went down.Nicole was the one who got all the money/attention/interviews etc by a carefully orchestrated machine behind the group,which led to the rest of them saying screw this !!!
Nicole was kept away from the rest of them throughout their time together,so she wouldn't know anything about Ashley anyway (Hence the awkward moment when she was asked if what Kimberly Wyatt said was true that Ashley is usually the most girly one when on tour ... And Nicole said a stock answer something like 'she is a strong person' )
Nicole's people probably got scared when they saw Ashley getting into the top 3 and saying how shiz the rest of them got treated in the PussyCatDolls on yesterdays show and told her to show support as a PR/damage limitation move.

Erm, ask her 2.5 million twitter followers to support Ashley the same as Kimberly Wyatt has been doing.

Ashley is so much more likeable that Nicole .Nicole is so needy and attention seeking on X Factor and Ashley seems so grounded and ordinary and just lovely .

This is exactly what I was thinking. In my opinion, Nicole has never really come across very well.

I know more about Puccini than I do about Pussycat Dolls but, after reading about the tension caused in the band by Nicole and Ashley's confirmation of this whilst in the camp, I know which one of the two is a nicer person. For Nicole to suddenly pop up after Ashley finds herself in the top two certainly makes me wonder why she showed no such support before now.

I'd never heard of Ashley Roberts before IAC and there are probably tens of thousands of people like me out there so who will be the most popular member of TPD in the UK from now on? That must be a terrible shock to Nicole, she may not be top dog for much longer and her ego will take one heck of a bashing, best jump on the bandwagon whilst she can.

I dont understand this Nicole hate. However, I dont watch the X-Factor so perhaps thats something to do with it.

I don't know much about PCD and don't watch XFactor any more, but from what little I've seen I think its down to a few things.

Haven't seen much of Nicole, but from what I have seen, she comes across as though she could be a bit of a diva and a bit of a dividing character. She isn't terrible, I'm impartial to her, but she does have a certain presence about her that some may not like.


I've seen a few articles about the PCD split and from what I can gather (I could have stuff wrong or muddled here - this is as I understand it); PCD started as a dance group (Nicole wasn't in this group) who were noticed by label bigwigs, who saw $ signs.

The labels picked up a lead singer (Nicole) and put her into PCD to create a girl group. The labels then pushed Nicole as the face of the group and made it all about her. Nicole took the lions share and the other girls basically got screwed.

So, while that's not exactly Nicoles fault, thats record labels being record labels, in that context I can see how the other girls in the group could resent that; or have became fed up and ditched the group.

People will then form their opinions however they will form them, I think the above influences some of the dislike for Nicole.

As I understand it The Pussycat Dolls were originally a dance group until someone had the idea of bringing a singer in, which was Nicole and that is when they became famous.So in a way I can understand the management pushing her forward. So I agree with above , it wasn't Nicole's fault she was pushed to the front.

IIts not as simple as being pushed to the front. The final straw came for the rest of the girls when firstly Jessica Sutta broke a rib but the management refused to give her any aid and then when it was proposed that the group should suddenly be called PCD 'featuring Nicole Scherzinger'. All of this as well as Nicole having her own dressing room and transport etc whilethe rest of the girls had to share. I understand that its not Nicoles fault she was preferred but she didnt put up much of a fight for her fellow band mates.

Well why should she?

She did most the work behind the scenes.

At the end of their era they didn't seem to like Nicole taking all the glory. But at the begining they didn't seem to mind having their faces plastered over the record covers and didn't seem to mind miming in videos of music that Nicole had worked on pretty much all by herself. They were happy to get paid for just turning up after the record had been created.

Why didn't they at the start put up a fight and say 'it's not fair we're being credited despite one of us doing more work than any of the others'? Because they liked the money and the fame and whatever else.

I mean I do really like Ashley. However there seems to be this lack of self awareness that if things were more equal, Ashley and at three others would never have been employed in the first place.

They weren't employed as an equal group. At the beginning Nicole was employed to do more work and therefore got a better deal in return. The girls were employed to do less work and therefore paid and treated accordingly. So to get prissy that that never changed is a bit arrogant... especially as none of the girls proved they were any better than what they were originally employed to be anyway.

Ashley was in from 2001 to the split in 2010. Nine years where it was made clear to her that she was not gonna receive more than a salary while their records were selling millions.

Also, after the four gilrs left the management tried to re-boot the band but with a new set of dancers but it looked strange to see mid 30's Nicole with a bunch of under 25 year olds. Nicole was very happy with this situation and happy to continue without the girls who were in the band from the off. Obviously, this happens all the time in music industry but i find Nicoles lack of support for her band mates to be something of an insight into her priorities and attitude.

I respect Nicole as a singer and I like her as an XF judge but this particular episode does not show her in a good light,

there might be a slight spike in pussycat dolls sales off the back of this show so nicole's gotta be happy about that. i wonder if there's a bit of jealousy going on. to me, ashley is far more 'approachable' and tv-friendly than nicole and,in an ideal world, she should be the one in the spotlight.

They did actually end up putting one single out under this. I think it might have been the one prior to the split.

Thanks for all the replies to me asking why people dislike Nicole. As a complete neutral on this one, the only thing I can say is that Nicole seems to have carved a good career out of her time in PCD and if she was put in as the lead singer then you can see why she probably acted as she did. I wouldnt have thought that she needed any publicity by calling into IAC ITV2 show (unless they asked her to) so I still cant understand why people are implying that she is only jumping on the bandwagon.

Perhaps I am a bit gullible.
