Will you keep your old console? I think I will. Do you think you will get it as soon as it is widely available?

It all depends on the new console I suppose. Will it be backwards compatible and what size HDD will it have (I hope it comes with 500Gb as standard or be released in 2 different versions of HDD) as I think the 250Gb HDD's don't have enough storage space.

I have around 150GB of XBLA and On Demand games on my current Xbox360 and i'm beginning to toil for space.

But Yeah i'll no doubt end up buying the new console when it launches.

LOL It's MS we're talking about here so there's no chance of that. Perhaps there may be an option to transfer our current Gold Sub onto the new console along with whatever licenses/games bought from XBL but I do hope MS launch the new console with a larger HDD.

I actually think if MS want to remain competitive come the next gen, they're gonna have to provide some concessions with regard to XBL. MS are on their own charging a fee to play online and think people are turning away from that now, the competition is far greater now than when the 360 launched.

Yeah I understand that but MS are all about making $. If MS continue to charge for online play then Yeah they need to offer us something more. I just can't/don't see them allowing us to game online for free. They would stand to lose a shit load of cash.

Don't get me wrong. We'd all love to be able to game online with our Nextbox for free but I think the service would suffer for it. I don't think we would get the same service we do now.

i doubt i will keep my 360, unless i decide to hook it upto my main TV as a media center type thing.

Also i think a bigger HDD on the new console is a given, considering they are trying to push game downloads from the marketplace.

Do you think that it will ever get to the stage where console games will all be digital download from the market place (no more discs). I hope not as some of the prices of the games from on demand, are well over priced. Iv'e seen a few selling for 49.99, who the **** is gonna pay that ?.

Yh, i hope not, i would of thought it would be cheaper to download games rather than buying it on disk.

Considering the extra costs, the disk its self, case etc etc.

Thats the problem with the PS Vita to, 42 to download the new COD or Assassins Creed games.

The games would have to come down in price if they went to digi download only. I don't mind paying 10 - 15 for arcade games from XBL but I certainly wouldn't pay up to 50 for the on demand games.

Microsoft will have to makes some changes to the gold sub for the next gen. As a company they are getting more and more in to online services so some kind of music service and maybe a free movie a month might help. Multiplayer isn't a big enough pull anymore to me as i rarely play online anymore and only pay for gold as most of my friends are there and on the off chance we play together.

Its interesting that under 'DEC ON GOLD' on the dash, they have a video promoting 'perks' on Gold, excuse me MS but with the exception of the exclusives online multiplayer can be played for free everywhere else. So those so called perks aren't perks at all.

Make online gaming free, charge for all the party options, then maybe PSN wouldn't look so tempting to punters.
